The document feeds half way, then the scan bar/light goes real fast to the middle of the glass. Then i get the scanner failure error.

When I push the copy button on my 7210, the document is feed into the document feeder and about half way through, I get the scanner failure, turn off printer message.

When using the document feeder, paper jams and copy/scan fails.

How do I solve the "scanner failure power off and on again" message for an h.p. 6110 officjet all-in-one printer/scanner/fax?

Hi Paul,

Scanner Failure usually results in Hardware Failure. However there is one step you can try. Try connecting the printer directly to wall outlet or any other power outlet and the issue should be resolved.

Scanner won't move, just clicks

I had the same problem. I just followed the solution here:
http://www.fixya.com/support/t6219664-hp_6110
for "scanner failure". there are instructions on how to remove the document feeder and scanner glass, clean the glass and lubricate the rod that the scanner travels on. I followed the procedure and my printer/scanner now works fine.

HP office jet 7310 all in one. when trying to fax it says scanner failure. Turn off power and restart. This accomplishes nothing. Suggestions?

This means that there is an internal failure of some kind (e.g. the scanner is stuck). Be sure that the shipping lock has been removed and try again. HP is very good about support, try contacting them through their website or by phone.

Good Luck!

Scanner and coiper won't work printer does work

Hi Bbear,

The problem here is with the scanner bulb, the scanner bulb is bad.
I mean to say that your scanner bulb lit for a while and goes off.

This confirms that the scanner bulb is currupted.

I have a web link, which is given below with some of the troubleshooting steps to perform.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bpu01105&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=390315

Click on the web link given above and perform the steps.
If this fixes the issue, that would be great else you need to replace or get a new or refurbished printer.
