I got a black phillips gogear vibe mp3 player and it didnt come with a software cd for downloading songs to cant download any songs to any programs and i use windows media player and or itunes how can i...

When you connect the MP3 player to yourcomputer with the supplied USB cable then computer detects the player as anexternal storage device or a Removable disk, you can then view the folder onyour MP3 player. Open the music folder and create a new folder on the playerexactly the same way you create a folder on your computer's hard drive. Toorganise your music, make a folder name with the name of the music album andplace the album's MP3 files in this folder, then copy the mp3 files from thecomputer into this folder.
You will then be able to select the music you want to play by the music albumfolder. To delete a filefrom your MP3 player, connect the supplied USB cable to your player and thenplug it into the USB port of your computer.
The computer will detect your player then click on this device to view thefiles, you can then click on the music file to highlight the file and thenpress the Del key to delete the file off your MP3 player. Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine thetype of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI andWMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is anincompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to aformat that your MP3 player uses. Click on this link for instructions on converting videofiles for MP3 players :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5874192-play_videos_mp3_player MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

HOW DO I GET VIDEOS ON MY RCA MP3 PLAYER?

Make sure that you have a "Digital" Mp3 player and not a simple mp3 player. Mp3 players can only play music.

  1. Go to the computer that you will be transferring or moving video files to your mp3 digital player from.
  2. Then open your internet browser and go to: www.codecguide.com . If this link changes Google "K-Lite codec pack."
  3. Look for the K-Lite Codec Pack. Download and run this codec upgrade package to your computer. This is something like an interpreter so that your software can read the language that the video is written in. When these aren't up to date, videos will not be able to be read or played.
  4. Once installed, Google or search both these two programs: "RCA SMV Video Converter" and then secondly, "RCA Video Converter." They are not the same program. A converter is a program that can change what type of file you have. For example: from a video.flv to a video.mp4 or video.avi. Any how, download and install both.
  5. Attempt to run the programs and convert your files. If the RCA SMV Converter still can't read the codec, make sure to send it through the RCA Video Converter first. If this will convert it. You then can send the newly converted files through the RCA SMV Converter again and it should be able to read most of the codecs.
  6. Then copy and paste or drag them from your computer to your video mp3 player. You have to look in "My Computer" to find your mp3 player device. Input your new videos with the .smv extension ending to your video folder inside the player.
  7. Attempt to play them on your player.
Hope this allows you to resolve the issue.

Cant play videos

It seems that your MP3 player can support mpeg4 video, but you should control your video resolution to 320*240, maybe you can to use Leawo free mp4 converter.

You can free download it here: http://www.leawo.com/video-converter/free-mp4converter.html

Hi dalychris,

Next time you connect the mp3 to the computer, go to the folder where the videos are dropped (generally a folder named VIDEO) and check what the extension is. If it is not mp4, you'll have to convert and resize it. There are plenty of free and paid programs available for such conversions. The standard video format for a walkman is the same as that for an ipod, .mp4, so you can try out this site: http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/ . There are other freeware programs available too, like VirtualDub that you can use to convert your videos, or paid programs like Xilisoft. After the conversion is done, you should be able to transfer and play the file easily.

For proper conversion of videos and pictures use the Sansa Media Converter.

There is a download available on the site of Sandisk, called, SMC:
http://mp3support.sandisk.com/sansa/SMC/
You can have a direct installation or save the execute file, having installed it later.

Note: files should have certain formats before they can be converted to the player with SMC. See next link:

How do I put videos on my Philips Mp3 player?

You have to use the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter to convert/transfer videos. If the converter is not recognizing a specific video type - FLV, for instance - download a free program called Riva FLV Encoder and convert the videos to AVI format first. Then the Philips Media Converter will recognize them.

The Philips Media Converter is not capable of converting an entire DVD - you will have to acquire video editing software, and then break up the DVD files into 15-minute chunks, and then convert each chunk.

If you are getting a codec error, do a google search for free video codecs - they are out there. Windows Codec Pack and downloading the latest version of quicktime will give you most of these needed codecs.

This player is not capable of playing copyright-protected videos - so don't even bother with them.

Additional information is available both from Philips website and from Arcsoft's website.

Can't find it for my favorite vidios

I'm not sure that I fully understand your question, but if the video converter that came with your mp3 player is having a hard time detecting video files that are stored on your computer, download a free program called Riva FLV Encoder. Convert any video files to AVI format using Riva. Once they are converted to AVI, your video converter should now detect and convert them. Hope this helps!
