I have a Danby dehumidifier model DDR6011R and it runs but I have yet to empty any water from it. I have used other dehumidifiers in the same area and they take out tons of water. What's the problem

1st ck your humidistat settings yes the fan can run but not the compressor to take water out
2nd ck your filters could they be blocked ?
and last but not least if the unit is more than a few years old its not as efficient as newer units and will take much longer to work consider an upgrade to a newer unit , also moisture levels in basements vary due to season , winter not as damp as summer so volume of water removed will change
use an external humidy gauge to verify it working correctly there not so expensive now and can be gotten most places that sell dehumidifyers 70 % rh is considered normal

Haier model hdn455 serial number 05021110 it runs but has never taken a drop of water out of the air, so it just keeps running

The problem, may very well be, that the humidity extraction level is set too high. Lower it to 35% and see what happens. Keep in mind, the lower the percentage of the moisture/humidity setting, the more it extracts from the household air. The higher the setting, the less it extracts from the household air.

Also, remove and check the air intake filter to see if that needs to be cleaned. It should be cleaned at least twice a week during the operating season.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

I have a kenmore dehumidifier (about 2 years old), and i've found that after i turn the unit on and it is running for 2-3 minutes, it will then shut down even though no water has collected in the tray. any...

My first thought is that there's not enough moisture/humidity in the air, for the setting you have the humidifier set on. The higher the setting or percentage (i.e. 60%) means that the level you want to maintain. Which may be find in the cod winter months. In the Hot summer months, you want as low a level of humidity as possible (i.e. 45%).

My second thought is that the air intake filter and the coolant coils need cleaning, since it has been used in 2 years. It's just sat around gathering dust and spiders.

And finally, the collection bucket, may not be inserted properly and when the unit starts up the vibration dislodges the bucket just enough, so that it's not making contact with the safety switch. Sometimes when this happens, the Full light indicator will come ON, even if the bucket is empty.

Hope this helps you to start troubleshooting the problem. Please let me know.

Does dehuidifiers stop working as hard in the winter months then in the summer months. Because my water bucket has not fill up since gotten cold. I live is Alexandria Va and it is winter here.

Generally speaking there is more moisture in the air during the summer months. As the humidity goes down in the winter your dehumidifier will not collect as much water because there is less moisture in the air.

My 2 year old dehumidifier does not remove adequate moisture as before

How much moisture a dehumidifier can remove from the air is directly related to temperature and dew point. Check the relative humidity in the space where it is located.
