When i turn my computer the monitor text errors as "no signal". what can I do? besides go to a shop for PC repairs.
It means that the monitor is not receiving any signal from the cpu, check the cable that goes from the tower (cpu) to the monitor
My good old Dell dimension 3000 keeps saying check signal on any screen I hook up to it says the same thing and stays a black screen
I've checked all the wires their 100% good because all the screens work hooked up to my old laptop with Windows 7
I believe the jack went bad I was on my computer then the screen went black saying check signal it does this most with non Dell computer screens and with Dell computer screens too.

the monitor did not lie if the cable is not bad. The PC is dead.
no signal a message from the monitors brain.
not from PC.
1: fans dead.? one or both? PSU and CPU?
2: RTC coin cell on the Mobo, replaced yet. ?oops. 13 years old it is today, = bad !
3: test PSU yet? the simple jumper clip test.http://www.pcdied.com/power.html
we can list all the test. it's not hard.
