I own a Pentax Optios4i Camera, as yet I have not managed to download photos to my Dell computer operating Windows. I have the cable and the pentax connection manual but no CD with the softwear. How do I locate the appropriate softwear, please advise. Thank you very much. David Birkmyre

HI there there try to download the windows 7 camera driver from pentax website. It will start work then. Another way is remove the memory card & put in in a card reader then you can also transfer all photos from card to computer For further help ask me . Thanks.

I took advice in PC World. The camera isn't configured for Vista but a way around the problem is as follows:
Download photos directly from camera to printer then take them off using a memory stick. Then transfer them on to the computer.

Check the connecting usb cable that connects the camera with computer. Excessive usage causes cables breakages.

1. Replace the usb cable with a new one available at a very low cost in market.
2. Try other Usb ports on computer to plug in the camera

Bassie - did you resolve this? My computer recognizes the camera just fine. I have photos on my card but when I try to download to my computer, I don't see any photos. I've emailed Pentax several times w/ no help to this problem. Do you have automatic MS updates set on your machine? What Virus protection do you have? I've run into problems w/ another program conflicting w/ virus protection software.
