As a general rule, domestic machines don't like buttonhole twist, that heavy yellow thread you see on the RTW jeans. Sometimes you can put it through the bobbin but use a regular weight thread on top but this means sewing upside down as you'll want the yellow on top. And lots of machines dont like different weight thread top and bottom so it just makes for awful stitching anyway.

Best solution to top stitch jeans is use a regular weight thread, large size jeans needle but thread up two spools of thread on the top with both threads going through the same needle eye. It still may not solve the problem though.

To your machine, firstly change the needle as it may be bent. Then unthread the machine and manually turn the flywheel through a stitch cycle and listen carefully, if you still hear a noise as the needle touches the rotary hook, you've knocked the timing out. Service man visit time.

Probably if you check the manual, it will say 50 weight thread, and you'll need to stick with that in the future.

Those big industrial sewing machines that they top sew jeans on are very different to a domestic SM, many make a chain stitch or fell the jeans seams and are very heavy duty.

How do I thread a white 370 sewing machine

Many White brand sewing machines were made by Singer. https://www.singer.com/support has a manual for the White 370. The upper threading is described on page 9 with the matching figure 10 on page 8. (These are pages 9 and 10 of the PDF.)

For most sewing machines, the pattern is fairly similar for the upper thread. Make sure that the needle is in the highest position and the presser foot is up. You work from right to left and go down, up and down again. Bring the thread from the spool through the guides on the top. For the 370, bring the thread through the rear guide and then through the front guide. Bring the thread down and between the tension discs. Pull the thread up on the left hand side of the tension discs. Bring the thread up and around into the notch on the check spring. Bring the thread down under the thread guide bar and into the guide near the check spring. Then bring the thread up and through the take-up lever. Bring the thread down and through the thread bar guide. Next bring the thread through the lower thread guide at the guide bar. Now bring the thread through the guide at the needle clamp. Push the thread through the eye of the needle from left to right. Leave a 3-4" tail of thread behind the needle.

I hope this helps. The current link to the White 370 manual is https://res.cloudinary.com/singer-sewing/image/upload/fl_attachment/Singer-Website-Library/outdated_product/730_white-370-x.pdf .

How to thread up a UHT J 1947 m/ward sewing machine

Threading a UHT J 1947 m/ward sewing machine can be a bit tricky, but with a few simple steps, you'll be able to thread your machine in no time. Here is a general guide for threading a UHT J 1947 m/ward sewing machine:
  1. Start by winding the bobbin: Place the bobbin on the bobbin winder and wind the thread around it.
  2. Insert the bobbin into the shuttle: Once the bobbin is wound, slide it into the shuttle, making sure it's seated correctly.
  3. Thread the needle: Take the thread from the spool and thread it through the needle, making sure the thread is coming out of the eye of the needle.
  4. Bring the thread through the tension discs: Pull the thread through the tension discs, starting with the upper tension disc, then the lower tension disc.
  5. Thread the take-up lever: Bring the thread through the take-up lever, then through the thread guide.
  6. Thread the needle: Bring the thread through the needle, making sure the thread is coming out of the eye of the needle.
  7. Thread the presser foot: Bring the thread through the presser foot.
  8. Start sewing: Turn the hand wheel towards you to bring the needle down into the fabric, and start sewing.
It is important to note that the specific threading steps for a UHT J 1947 m/ward sewing machine may vary depending on the make and model. For more detailed instructions, you can consult the manual of your machine or contact the manufacturer for assistance. It's also important to check the manual for the specific threading instructions of your machine before starting.

Need diagram for threading

Search the internet for:

Make + Model + "threading"

The factory standard tension is the midway point between the high & low number. Then tweak the tension from there. Tighten to pull the lower thread higher in the fabric, Loosen to bring the top thread lower in the fabric.

Search the internet for "sewing machine tension"

With no manuel/thread tension solution?

tighten up the thread tension on the needle thread tension setting
what you describe is a result of the needle thread tension being too loose
to get manuals go google and type in -- workshop manual for ( make and model) sewing machine
there will be pdf version downloads if they are available

Thread lower looper on Elna 624 DSE. I have manual, still can't do it.

are you using a wire threader or tweezers to thread up? also some overlockers have a slide mechanisim on the looper so you can get to the eyelet, not familiar with this model but your manual should show the threading method. I usually turn the flywheel so the lower looper is all the way to the left and thread up the lower thread carrier, then turn flywheel again to move it to the right, then using the wire threader, I hook the thread from the left and bring it over to the right side, then thread up the looper eye. Hope that makes sense to you

I have a singer ultralock 14u34. The lower looper will not stay threaded when I try to sew, just works for an inch then nothing is catghing and the looper is no longer threaded.

Some sergers will unthread themselves if the thread is not threaded through the throat plate right. Especially the lower looper because there is not a lot of space for it to move. Try bringing the thread from the looper straight up through the hole in the throat plate, not to the side of the plate. You can also talk to the professionals at the link that I have attached. They are very helpful and easy to work with. Good luck Sewing Machine Repair Repair Sewing Machines Sewing Machines Repair Fix...

I have loaded my Singer 626 sewing machine bobbin properly, and when I try to bring the lower thread up by turning the wheel, nothing comes up. I do hold the upper thread taunt, so it can 'grab

Make sure your needle is correct for the machine and make sure it is fully inserted and undamaged.

you just hold onto the thread... you don't need to hold it taut.

The uper thread dose not catch the bottom thread

If there is a screw on the side of bobbin case try tightening it up.This usually worked on my old machine.
