My computer is not working....i am stuck in windows system32 drivers disk.sys when i try the safe mode...and the installation stops and just turn into black... can anyone help me ragarding this problem?...

If computer does not start normally, use this checklist to identify specific symptoms and take the recommended corrective actions to resolve the problems.Perform a Hard Reset Do these actions first to clear all temporary setting before troubleshooting the problem.Disconnect all peripheral devices and remove all USB devices and media cards Disconnect the AC power adapter, remove the battery, and then press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to drain residual charge
  1. Reconnect the AC power adapter (do not connect the battery), press the Power button and look for the LEDs to blink or glow, and listen for the sound of a disk drive and fan turning.
Perform each recommended corrective action and then attempt to restart the computer.Symptom 1: LED lights do not glow, display is black, no fan or drive sounds are heard, and computer does not startIf LEDs do not glow or blink when AC power adapter is attached and power button is pressed, there is no power available to the notebook.

  • Count number of blinking LEDs or beeping tones to help with diagnostics testing.
  • Contact HP for technical assistance. There are no other user-initiated troubleshooting actions until error codes are resolved.
Symptom 3: LEDs glow, fan noise may be heard briefly, display remains black, and computer fails to startup or boot Usually occurs if a component is installed incorrectly, or there is a device conflict or failure.
  • Connect an external monitor to check if the problem is the built-in LCD display or graphics card.
  • Remove all CD/DVDs, SD cards, USB devices, peripherals and do a Hard Reset .
  • If memory or hard drive components were replaced, reinstall original components.

Dell logo comes , next is black screen with a blinking line in the left top cover... it looks like lost O.S. but i have no CD or disc recovery

The issue might be with the corrupted display drivers or missing windows files. You can install the missing files from USB and using it to Boot.

Hi my dell inspiron 1525 keeps freezing on me and i have to restart it, it says i need a new battery and wonderd if this was the reason as ive had a virus check and all ok any ideas??

Try runnig a diagnostics.. Press and hold the Fn and then turn on the computer.. Then it will run a diagnostics.. If it gives any error code you need to replace parts accordingly...
You can use the following link if you get error codes

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/document?c=us&l=en&s=gen&docid=14B3819735D6B40EE0401E0A55177ED2

If diagnostics passes then please reinstall the OS then everything will be up and running..
If you have windows vista on the computer then tap F8 when the computer turns on and then you will be able to see the advanced boot options.. Select repair my computer.. In the repair my computer screen select the dell factory image restore...
Your computer will go through the installation and it will be up and running...

My Dell inspiron 1501 went to a blue screen and gives me an error message when reading the Hard Drive upon boot up. I am told the disk is either malfuntioning on logic or may have crashed. How can I find...

fortunately dell has built in diagnostics that can assist you with identifying the problem. here is a link on how to run them. if the drive is bad then you would need to replace it and reinstall windows and drivers. if it is good then run memory diagnostics as well just to be safe. if both pass then you may have to do a destructive reinstall of windows because you most likely have a virus issue. copy and paste this link into your browser it will help you run the diagnostics.

Cannot read disk

"A disk read error occured press Ctrl+Alt+del to restart " FOLLOW THE BELOW INSTRUCTIONS TO RUN DELL DIAGNOSTIC ON INTERNAL HDD Open the Dell Diagnostics on either your hard drive (F12) or from the Resource (Drivers and Utilities) CD. Running from the hard drive is the preferred method of using the diagnostics. When the boot device list appears, highlight ?Boot to Utility Partition? on desktop systems or ?Diagnostics? on portable systems and press . Note: On portable systems, PSA will be executed first. When PSA completes, press any key to load the Dell Diagnostics.? Go to step 2. From the Drivers and Utilities CD ResourceCD: Insert the Drivers and Utilities CD into the CD drive. Shut down and restart the computer. When the DELL® logo appears, press immediately. If you wait too long and the Microsoft® Windows® logo appears, continue to wait until you see the Windows desktop. Then shut down your computer and try again. NOTE: This feature changes the boot sequence for one time only. On the next start-up, the computer boots according to the devices specified in the system setup program. When the boot device list appears, highlight IDE CD-ROM and press . Select Boot from CD-ROM option from the CD boot menu. Select Run the 32 Bit Dell Diagnostics numbered list. If a problem is encountered during a test, a message will display the error code and a description of the problem. Write down the error code and problem description and follow the instructions on the screen. If you can not resolve the error condition, contact Dell. If you run a test from the Custom Test or Symptom Tree option, click the tabs above the right window for more information: When the tests are completed, if you are running the Dell Diagnostics from the Drivers and Utilities CD, remove the Drivers and Utilities CD. My dell inspiron 1525 won't boot up

The hard drive could be failing. Try running the test this way.
First you'll have to power off the system.
You need to hold down the Fn button (Located next to the CTRL button on the left hand corner) and then power on the system. This will take the system to the diagnostics mode.
After running a series of tests you'll be prompted to "Press any key to boot to the diagnostics partitions". Now you'll get a prompt to test the computer. You need to select the option and run a CUSTOM TEST on the hard drive.
Write down any error codes listed and continue testing.
If you get any errors note then and contact technical support.

Error code 2000-0146

I had the same problem and came across the following solution that worked for me as well:
Re: windows Vista will not start 18 Aug 2009 07:28PM I was getting a the same error codes and couldn't get Windows to boot up at all. I went to BIOS set up (restart your computer and hit F12 when the BIOS screen comes up), went to onboard devices and changed the SATA Operations from ACHSI (don't know how it got there) to the factory default setting ATA. Then I started up in "repair mode" (which was an option that was coming up when I tried to boot up before but never worked) - it went through a repair check and went to login screen.
Prior to finding this - I tried several things including start up from the Reinstallation disc, but nothing worked. I was ready to buy a new hard drive, but don't have to. Works fine!
Not sure what caused the problem to start with. It is an "Inspiron 1520"
