the unit does not require 'recharging' unless you've had a refrigerant leak - in which case you will need a qualified AC TECH to recharge it for you, after, he/she has found and repaired the leak.
But, as I said above, without a leak in the system you do not need to recharge it.

Hi,
There can be many reasons why a dehumidifier will
not work or collect water.
Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrong
with their dehumidifier
call 1-866-629-8241. they are no longer honoring the warranty because the company that made the dehumidifier (fedders) went bankrupt. they will prorate the warranty and send you a check. we had two months to go on ours and they sent us a check for $14 and change.
