You must have had a power spike during the storm, I tried to locate this model specs but couldn't,, if you can get into the back where the plug wire leads into the unit,, if there is no visible fuse, you want to look at the circuit board where the plug wire attaches to it, near that point there will be a diode thats blown, it will be easy to locate it should have pretty much exploded. if your knowledgeable with soldering you can purchase another directional diode and replace the burned one, if not, have a shop do it,,

Control panel for GE PFE29PSDSS

All models that have electronics are easily wiped out during storms due to the sensitive electronic controls on all of the control boards. Your model has the=> WR55X25146 Main Control Board the WR55X11138 Inverter Board and the dispenser control board. You will need to exchange parts until you get the right board. The display is dark

Not enough information.
Is the unit receiving power and do you have a power LED ?
Is your power connection to a surge protector or power cube.?

How old is the unit ? Has it been dropped or in a electrical storm or outage ?

Hitachi projection TV power but no display after lightning storm, power went on and off a few times in the house, but our house was not zapped.

A model number would help here--if power went on and off it may have damaged the power board in the set--many of these sets have up to 3 mechanical relays on that board--easy to damage them.

Hi, of you have any AV devices connected to the tv, try these to verify the unit will display a picture. if so and you have an aerial caonnected to the tv, then it is entirely possible that the aerial has taken a hit and destroyed the tuner. a TV technician will be able to confirm this for you

Whirlpool gdb307 oven display not working after storm

Some things to consider:

1. There are two thermal fuses on this unit
- one fuse is in the bake/broil element circuit and if blown, would cause no-heat but the display would still light.
- the other thermal fuse is in series with power to the control board, if blown the control board display would be dark and no oven related functions would work

2. There is a low voltage transformer that supplies power to the control board that sometimes gets damaged by lightning surges. This would also cause the display to be dark with no oven functionality.

3. We repair a number of these control boards that are damaged by lightning storms. Here's a link to a related article that might be helpful:

I am unable to turn on/off my dell 20" monitor. On/off button doesnt work.

Hi! Most modern monitors have on/off switches that are NOT actual power controlling devices. (i.e. they simply tell an IC chip to cut power to the display section while leaving the rest of the power supply energized.) In the earlier monitors, when you flipped that power switch, you actually cut AC power to the whole unit. Now, with today's faster computers, LCD and plasma displays, instant-on is the norm. Regardless if the button is physically damaged(usually pressed too hard) or the circuit is defective, unless you are a tech you'll have to take the unit in for repair. Is the monitor under any type of warranty? Was there a storm recently? Do you use a surge protector? If the display was damaged at all by the storm, there is a very good chance you'll be covered by the surge protector warranty.(that's what you paid for)---hope I was of assistance---Rick

Msg-blinks no display

Hi Dan, Yes it is a very nice system, but like any device it is sensitive to electrical storms and power fluctuations. A surge or sag (AC power going up or down), can cause the sensitive digital chips to get damaged, and from my experience if you have tried resetting the unit, and your msg lites continue to flicker and the LCD is blank, it has some serious damage and needs repair or replacement.
