Check that out or follow the below.

  • Turn on your PSP by moving the power button on the right-hand side of the console in an upward motion. Under the console's main screen, go to the "Settings" icon. This is the first icon listed and is farthest to the left. From the drop-down menu, choose the "Network Settings" option at the end of the list.

  • 2

Select "Infrastructure Mode" and press the "X" button. Select the "New Connection" option to add a wireless connection to your PSP. Choose the "Scan" option to instruct your PSP to search for accessible wireless connections in your area.

  • 3

Select a wireless connection from the connections your PSP is able to access. Confirm the name of the network and press the right arrow button. Confirm the security encryption settings for the connection. In most cases, the PSP will determine the network's encryption automatically. Enter the wireless connection's password if the network is secured.

  • 4

Name your new wireless connection so that you will be able to identify it in the future and save your settings. Run a test connection to ensure you are able to connect to the Internet through the wireless network.

  • 5

Press your PSP's "Home" button at the bottom left-hand side of the console. Move your cursor to the right to find the "Network" icon. Select the "Internet Browser" option from the drop-down menu. Press the up directional arrow and press "X" to enter a web address into the browser. Once you enter a web address, your PSP will automatically connect to the Internet using the WiFi connection you set up previously.

My ssid says my Security says not supported .

WEP and WPA are the only types of Wireless Security supported on the PSP. If you have WEP2 or anything else on your wireless network, the PSP will not support it. You can change your wireless router's security to WEP if you want the PSP to connect to it.

Check the following page at Sony for more information:

    http://us.playstation.com/support/answer/?a_id=24

Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) are security encryption protocols to provide secure wireless (Wi-Fi). These are common on most wireless access points available. You will need to contact the manufacturer of your wireless access point to determine which will work best for you when setting up your wireless network. Both of these protocols are supported by the PSP system and you will need to choose which protocol your wireless network has been configured with in order for the PSP to connect to your network.

How do you get internet on a PSP?

    Hi ana01,

Connecting your PSP to the internet is just like connecting your computer to a router. First to consider is having an access point. So what is an access point? Access point is your router. If you wanted to get started going online using your PSP I suggest trying the following steps below:

    1. Just turn on your PSP as well as your WLAN/wiresless.

    2. Use the left and right directional button to find "Network Setting".

    3. Now look for "Infrastracture Mode".

    4. Please select "New Connection" and name it.

    5. Go to "WLAN Settings" then select "Scan".

    6. Your PSP will now detect your router.

    7. Navigate to "WLAN security setting". Just leave the option "NONE", If you dont have an encryption in your Router set up.

    8. But if have an encryption in your Router. Then put your WEP or WPA security key.

    9. Go to "Address Settings". Select "Easy".

    10. Navigate to "Setting List". Check if your setting is correct.

    11. Go to the next page then save your setting by pressing x. Then press x again once you get a message that says "Save Completed. Test Connection".

    12. Next message would say "connecting to access point." The next should say "obtaining IP address".

You already established a connection and you can now browse the net using your PSP.

    Hope it helps.

I have a psp 3000 and it will not get a connection for the internet anywhere can u help?

please ensure that you have the wifi button in the enabled position. Your PSP will detect any wireless wireless network within its range as long as the wireless
adapter is switched on. The switch for this is on the left end of the PSP, near the analogue
thumbstick. If the switch is in the down position, the wireless network adapter is off; push the
switch into the up position and it'll turn it on. If you're not going to be using wireless
networking it's a good idea to keep it turned off as it'll make your batteries last longer.
