For a temp. fix, grab some wire and wrap it around each rod, then insert into the hole (were the plastic piece broke) and wrap those two together, YOU NEED to repair it correctly, go to dealer and they have pictures that can locate the plastic bushing.
The best way to replace the spring is to remove the rails entirely. Take closeup photos of the gun from all sides with your digital camera or camera phone to help you with placement of all screws. You will need small clamp, small vicegrips and paperclip or piece of soft wire with small hook bent on one end to temp hold spring in place. With rails in hand check if pusher will slide out front of rails (some rails have a small casting preventing pusher from coming out front ~ remove tailpiece and slide out back ). Locate small screw /nut holding spring in place (keep this side of rails facing you). With new spring in place slide pusher into rails until you can catch the eye of the spring with bent wire at front of rails. While holding wire with vicegrip pull back pusher a few inches and clamp in place with c-clamp. Pull or let in bent wire to align eye of spring to attachment hole and install screw (you can leave bent wire in eye and just break off later. With screw attached break off wire and install rails to gun. Check sliding action of pusher before installing bolts at rear of rails. The pusher on some porter cable guns have plastic sliders that easily break with normal use and should be replaced as needed. Good luck.
in order to replace any injector on a millinia 2.3 miller motor (super charged) you need to
1) remove battery
2) remove battery holding plate (requires 7 10mm bolts keep them together)
3)next use a pair of vise pliers to move the clamp on the second air cooler it is locate right by the battery location.
4) remove the two 12 mm bolts on that same air cooler located on the bottom of the air cooler (one is right torwards the front the other is torwards the fire wall)
5) remove the tention clamp on the most front air cooler it looks like a small radiator
6)remove the three 12mm bolts in the front of the front air cooler (keep together!)
7) take off the throttle cable from the throttle body (do this by manually lifting up on the half circle looking cable pully it should be bronze or gold in color)
8)use a 10 mm socket to remove the three holding harnest you will see (very obviouse follow the throttle cable)
9) remove the vaccum lives from the intake manifold (thats the big silver piece you have been looking at with all the componets and vaccum lines attached) ALSO TAKE PICTURES TO ENSURE ALL VACCUMS ARE RE ATTACHED IN RIGHT PLACES
10)remove both air coolers (front one and the side one located by the battery area)
11) remove the 14 12mm bolts retaining the intake chamber (also know as the dynamic air chamber)
12) un hook all electronics (o2 sensor blah blah basicly if its hookid up unhook it dont worry about the pic for this each plug is differant allowing it to only hook up to one plug)
13) remove top intake chamber (will be kida tough do to the fact it is probably the first time being removed since its build
14) take a pic of all vaccum lines under manifold making sure to repair any cracked or broken ones (very important to do that many of the t junctons will be broke your motor should never sound like its hissing )
15) to remove the injector pick the one that is suspected of failure and on that side of the fuel rail there will be 7 phillips screws holding a plastic cover on the the fuel rail (this is the electronics of the fuel injectors
16) remove the injector by twisting the injector and pulling( very hard to get out )
17) install a new injector (will take alot of preassure to get in )
18) make sure the notch is lined up with the groove on the rail (this ensure proper seating of the injector)
19) REINSTALL IN REVERSE AND YOUR DONE!
I had all four of my windows do this on my 2000 bville. There is a small plastic piece that hooks to both ends of the cable and slides up and down the rail to pull the window up and down. This plastic piece broke on all four of my windows and let the cable fall. I fixed it cheap though. I took apart each door and pulled out the motor/slide/pulley assembly and wired it back together with coat hanger wire. It was a lot of work, but beat paying 160 dollars per window for new assembly (that would probably break again!)
i would do a tack together job on it,,
get some thick fuse wire and tiy it round inside the grill holes on the out side edge tiy each one together at about every inch apart around the grill that will hold the two grill's tight, then if you still have the broken plastic bits glue them back on using supper glue its cheeper that trying to get part that you may never find?
just place both feet on the agitator as it sits on the floor and lift up on the top half. there are plastic tabs on the bottom half that hold the two pieces together. you will need to remove the 2 tabs before putting the 2 pieces together. the bolt that you screw the agitator down with will hold the 2 pieces together. Joe
The plastic used is a thermoset, so should not want to melt in order to join together again by that method.
I would recommend using a clear 2 part epoxy resin. Make sure all parts are clean using a degreaser - cleaner, and dry thoroughly for several hours before repair. Use elastic bands or tape to hold items in place while the adhesive sets - about 24 hours for full cure.
