I just bought an AVOL, but it doesn't have a remote. I cannot find a remote that has an AVOL code. A friend told me to try a samsung code, any suggestions?

If you have a an Avol AET3220FD and the remote control ARC-U1 (this is the universal remote that comes with the tv) stops working follow the following steps.
1) Hold tv button until it goes solid red
2) type 523
3) press set button
4) then click power button to check and see if the remote will work.

I had the same problem. Called avol company and got a normal price for a remote. Once they add shippment cost and tax (i live at italy), the total price was almost same as a new universal remote price. While you chose a universal remote, i suggest you to read supported brands written on it's cover. If avol is not included don't waste your time & money. Btw. as far as i know avol only uses samsung lcd panels & speakers for certain models. Production of remotes belongs to avol or another company. If you may have chance to disassemble an avol tv, you can see many different parts belongs to different companies.
