I have a Shop Vac (Wet/Dry) Model 5275 (120V 60Hz 6.4A), Peak HP of 2.75 While vacuuming the Shop Vac fell over, stopped working, and would not come back on again. Tried plugging into another outlet, etc., but nothing works. Is there some internal problem that I can fix myself?

My vac isn't a shop vac brand but my home Depot brand vac has a reset switch that acts like a circuit breaker. Look for one on you vac. There is no way any brand vac of this type should stop working just by tipping over. My vac fell down a flight of stairs and fell off a deck and still worked fine

Hi, I know on my Craftsman shop vac 2 different sizes of vacs that I use, I try and stick to the craftsman filters, but you can use other brands if they are not available or you want to save some ( $ ) ? As far as a manual for this vac, more then likely you will have to go to the maker and distributor as Sears, O.C.Hardware also sell there products. You may have to go with a manual that is the same peak H.P.and gallons that covers all different makes and models. Filter wise, make sure you have the right ones on or off when using the wet or dry pick-up settings.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7

SOURCE: my shop vac stopped working

Staring from the failrue of the power cord, the main plug,t he main switch each of the sections must be tested for continutiy before we can conclude.
SInce it is clear case of power failure the voltage must reach the motor,if not back trace to the point decribed above.
If voltage is at the motor without any reponse then the motor can be faulty.Checked also faulty surge/capacitors.

I have a wet/vac model 2010a 1..0 peak hp do i put the gray filter on to sick up water or to dry vac

The filter is only for dry use. When you are picking up water etc with it, don't use any filters. They get ruined.
