Canon PowerShot SD750 / IXUS 75 Digital Camera Logo
Anonymous Posted on May 31, 2011

I have been using the CANON SD750 Camera for 2 years now. I just came back from moemorial day vacation yesterday. I realised the camera does not allow me to review the photographs. Of over 1600 pics I can only view one. It just shows an image of a question mark, and the words "Unidentified Image. Will I be able to retrieve pics on the SD ( San Disk) Memory card. Is this a camera problem, cam it be fixed. I took couple new pics since I found outthis problem and I am able to view these new pics not old ones.

Try to retrieve the files from the memory into your computer, if you can't see the pictures after they are moved, they might have been corrupted while you were using the camera.
In theory, you might have placed the camera near a strong magnetic field, like a speaker. This could explain the files being corrupted if that's the problem you have.

Use a memory card reader to do this. If you have a data cable for the camera, usa that instead.

I have used memory card reader on my laptop but to no avail. I have memory reader on Blu-ray DVD player and that is able to play the pictures on the TV. How can I retrieve it to the computer?

What does it do on your computer? Can't you see any files?

  • Anonymous May 31, 2011

I can only see 1 pic and when I forward it to next pic...it says unidentified image.

I used the camera to take a new pic , I am able to view those on the camera and computer but not the rest

Looks like the files are corrupted :(, and if you can't see them, there is nothing I can do to help you out on this.

  • Juan Calca?o May 31, 2011

    I'm really sorry.

  • Anonymous May 31, 2011

If the files were corrupted then you would not be bale to view them on Computer via memory reader on the blu-ray DVD...right?

  • Juan Calca?o May 31, 2011

    That's right.

Canon Powershot sd750 screen completely not working

If you're up to doing the replacement yourself, you can order a new LCD assembly here. If not, you can take the camera to a reputable camera shop and have a trained professional do the replacement. A third alternative is to buy a new camera to replace the five-year-old SD750.

Skip the cable, software and so on.
Get a card reader/writer. They are not very expensive, and can be bought at most stores such as Walmart, Walgreens, Officemax, Radioshack, and so on.
No software is necessary and the camera does not need to be used at all. Simply put the card in the reader and copy all files to the computer.

Cannon sd750 digital elph will not charge, either on charger or on pc. would this need a ew battery , it is two years old , advice please much appreciatd

As you've guessed, it's time for a new battery. Rechargeables are only meant to last 1-2 years, regardless of their use. Fortunately, your camera uses the NB-4L battery, for which there are many inexpensive generic altenatives these day. Here's some examples from Amazon. Make sure you read the user reviews before purchasing, as some generics are better than others.

Dropped SD750 on floor, now won't turn on

That's a hard one to analyze through email. A camera tech would have to use test equipment on it to see if the power section got shorted when the door opened when it hit the floor. It may not be a cheap or easy fix, but only a tech can tell. I have heard of cameras getting damaged, just from putting batteries in backwards, so a short circuit might have damaged a chip inside. Of course a warranty does not cover dropped cameras, but you might want to have them look at it and tell you what it will cost.
