Hi, my puppy ate the unravelled cord of my Dyson DC23 at a point about 4 feet from the vacuum body. So I need to replace the entire cord & plug. Can I do this or do I need to buy a whole new Dyson vacuum??.

There is a sock stuck in the hose of my dyson dc23 animal motorhead how do I get it out

Hi, this is Jim with Crucial Vacuum,

Detach the hose and stretch it out completely, if the sock is in a hard to reach place use a broom handle to push it out. Be careful to mind the edges of the hose you don't want to cause a tear, which would lead to poor suction.

How to I fix the stuck power cord on the Dyson DC23 Turbine Head Animal?

Hi Saule, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear your DC23 Turbine Head's cord seems to be stuck. If there's an issue with the cord reel mechanism, your machine may need a repair.

We'd be happy to help you arrange this, and will also be able to confirm if this is covered under your Dyson parts and labour warranty. Please note, we would advise against trying to repair the machine yourself in case damage is caused - if your vacuum is within our warranty period, this could also void any remaining cover.

When you have a moment, please give us a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU) to discuss your options with our experts.

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

Beater bars not turning

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your DC23. This model doesn't include a traditional user-replaceable belt - the drive system is engineered to last for the lifetime of the machine.

If your machine is a DC23 Motorhead, please take a look at the video above to clear any obstructions from the brush bar and cleaner head, and to reset the machine.

If your DC23 includes an air-driven Turbine head, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide to make sure everything is correct with your vacuum: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc23/dc23-animal/my-machine-is-not-working/turbine-head-not-working-properly/check-the-plunger

If you'd like some further advice from our experts after you've given this a try, please contact the Dyson Helpline directly - you can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).

If a repair or replacement part is needed, we'll be happy to confirm if this is covered under your vacuum's 5-year warranty.

Best wishes,

Jack

Dyson dc23 lost suction

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your DC23, but I'm sure we can help. If your vacuum doesn't seem to have as much power as it should do, this is likely to be due to a blockage in the Turbine head, wand or hose. In addition to this, the filter may need washing.

To check for any blockages, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:

http://content.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1298&product=DC23-TURBINEHEAD-US

In normal use, we recommend washing the filter at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 24 hours for the filter to dry completely before replacing it.

I'm confident this will resolve the issue, but if you'd like further assistance, please give our Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

Jack

How to replace electrical cord on Dyson ball vacuum cleaner. Our puppy chewed it.

Depending on where it has been chewed, you may not need to replace the whole of your cord. Ask your local electrical supplier, or possibly somewhere like B & Q, if they have an 'inline' plug and socket to repair your existing cord.this would resemble the type of plug and socket used to connectd the power chord to a lawnmower, except you would not be buying the sealed type. Then you could simply cut out the chewed part of your ccord, and fit the two new ends, one the plug and the other the socket. It is no more difficlt than fitting a new domestic 13 amp plug on a cable. It is also a safe but much cheaper solution, so you should save money too.

Broken electrical cord

The belt can e replaced but I recommend you should take it to your local vacuum cleaner service center. They may even be able to fit a new plug on the end for you if the damage is at the plug end.
