Most likely your print head is clogged, there are 2,000 some nozzle's in it. If the printer is not used for a moderate amount of time the ink can dry up and cause a clog in those nozzle's. You can try reseating the ink cartridges(take them out turn off power, unplug printer, power back on & wait for it to get done making noise) then proceed doing a printhead clean from the main menu, or homecenter->?->maintenance. Then after that do a calibration, print a demo sheet to see if there is any improvment. The printhead clean pushes ink through the nozzles to try to clear clogs. The calibration scans those nozzles to see which are avalible to use, and makes sure that all the avalible nozzles are being used. If this does not fix the problem you most likely need a printhead but you will have to call kodak; as they are not avalible in stores. Also you can try updating your firmware from kodak home center, or
www.kodak.com/go/downloads... As for the software issue I would try running the clear utilty program from
www.kodak.com/go/clear and the try redownloading the software from the above link go/download
