Access your machine in safe mode and fix this problem by:

-- cleaning system junk
-- optimizing computer services
-- optimizing internet
-- repairing registry
-- defraging registry
-- clearing browsers junk

do these things with some secure tool such as Intel Software Partner Reginout.

Hope it would help you..

Turning on computer brings screen to open normally or safe mode but will do nothing more but cycle thru it again

Hi Janet,

I think this might be due to the fact that your Operation System might have been corrupted. Try inserting your OS CD/DVD and install the OS.Before installing, you can either format your default Windows drive or keep files as it is.

When Windows XP won't start (primary fix)

Symptoms: When you start your computer, you get the black screen with a menu that tells you to start in safe mode, normal mode, etc. When you make a choice, you end up in the same place.

Solution: If you have Windows XP, you'll need an installation disk. Doesn't matter if it's yours or not. You just need a Windows XP disk. Any flavor. Put it in the CD drive and start your computer. Be sure the computer boots from the CD.
You will see the Windows installation message and the first question you will be asked is if you wish to repair Windows or install it. Choose "r" for repair. You will now be presented with a black screen that asks you which version of Windows do you wish to repair. Choose the one that is probably the first on the list--it should just say Windows. It may appear like this: C:\Windows.
You may get a second screen asking for the password. This is the password for the Administrator account. If there is not a password on this account, just hit "enter."
When you get to the C:\> prompt, type CHKDSK /P and let it run. It will most likely find errors and fix them. Once it's finished, Windows should start normally.
If it doesn't, you'll need to check out my link that addresses the "secondary fix."

To start your computer normally you must choose either of that options but the only thing you must choose is the start windows normally so that all the settings from the previous working settings will be applied in your windows start up.

How do you put windows into safe mode?

Power on or Restart your computer, keep tapping F8 on the keyboard while it boots up. After few seconds, you'll be taken to the "Advanced Boot Options" with "Safe Mode" in the lists. Use the Up-Down arrow keys to highlight the "Safe Mode" and press enter on the keyboard to confirm the selected boot options. Black Screen with white texts will be displayed on the display, wait for few seconds until you see the windows logon Screen. You'll also see a confirmation message box asking you to confirm to boot into Safe Mode, click "yes" or "Ok" and proceed forward. There now you are in the Safe Mode.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Boot your PC with the windows OS disk and choose to repair your computer when asked. Run the chkdsk program in DOS on the recover mode to correct disk errors.
On completion, restart your computer normally and check it it works.

If it does not work, you may need to format your pc & reinstall windows again.

When I turn my computer on, it asks for safe mode or start windows normally or last configuration. No matter what I put in it does not boot up; it kind of keeps looping.

I could be caused by harddisk failure since it cant boot properly anymore.
Try running your Window installation cd. Once it boot the cd, choose Repair option.

Windows will not start up

choose start windows in Safe mode, if it starts then everything will look big, don't worry about that for now. Then go to Start>accessories>system Tools>system restore and choose a date when you know that everything was working normally, when it has finished restoring the computer will restart. If asked choose start windows normally.

I hope this helps

Can't get to login window

Blue screens are normally critical errors. If you have loaded any new hardware to your computer lately or some software packages you will need to uninstall them.

Try starting windows in safe mode by pressing F8 continuoulsy until you hear a beep. This will start the computer in safe mode and everything will look big on the screen, ignore that for now. While you are in safe mode uninstall anything that you have loaded prior to this error. Be it software or hardware.

If you have not loaded anything recently then try restoring your computer to an earlier time when you know that it was working with now problems.

Once safe mode boots go to Start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore and choose a date when you know that the computer was running okay. Once the restore has taken place the computer will reboot. If asked what mode you want to start in choose start windows normally.

Hopefully this will help you resolve your problem.
