F15 fault. RF610A F&Paykel fridge. Fridge section not cooling adequately. Freezer section working well. Beeps on opening fridge door. Beeps stop after about 10-15 seconds or if you press a button on the display panel. Help would be appreciated.
thankyou for your help re the fan. that sounds pretty logical.. shall investigate as it sounds as though I need to find a F&P fridge technician with a new fan to fix it. It seems odd that the error code F15 is not in the manual that comes with the fridge. And they call it a "smart" frig!thankyou for your help re the fan. that sounds pretty logical.. shall investigate as it sounds as though I need to find a F&P fridge technician with a new fan to fix it. The defrost drain is blocked. It normally defrosts in the middle of the night, so you are greeted by a puddle of water when you get your milk for coffee. You clear it all up and it is fine all day, you come down next morning and water again. Correct?
When your F&P beeps, it's indicating a fault code - count the beeps which will relate to a fault code. 17 beeps would indicate an issue with the freezer fan.
Could be the reed switch (door switch).. amount of beeps will indicate the fault code.
Your fridge is telling you there is a fault, i'd say one of the 2 fans are not working. If everything is freezing in the bottom of the food compartment then the upper fan is faulty. You have to remove the shelves & remove the rear panel, the fan is in the shute at the bottom, remove, repair the broken wire or replace. Make sure unit is unpluged.
Have you checked the fridge thermostat? If the thermostat is ok then you should trace the volts which operate the valve which connects the compressor to the fridge evaporator coils. If the valve is getting volts then the valve is faulty. If not fault lies with control circuitry.
Hi,
From thee sounds of your issue you will need a sensor or a fan motor to move air from one section to another. Most likely this would be a fan motor located within the freezer section either not running or air flow is obstructed and can't leave the freezer section to enter through passages to cool the other section. Locate the air ports within the refer section, open freezer door (is there air coming out of air port in this section?). Now, close door to freezer, (is the same air flow still there?). If not you have an air flow restriction and this would need to be addressed. Good Luck, hit me up if you have more questions
Its defrost problem.--------- When you open the freezer door, then ice starts getting defrosted, because outside temperature is warm and due to that inside ice gets bit melted.---------
--------------
The working procedure of
this unit is as follows: --- The compressor starts then it cools the freezer
section. When the freezer reaches its cooling level the defrost cycle starts
functioning. In this cycle the fan in the freezer section starts running and
the cool air in the freezer section is passed to the fridge section
and the fridge section gets cold. The air from freezer to refrigerator passes
from the section, in that section the damper is located. ----------- The damper
is operated by a motor. Its a complete damper assembly with motor included in
it.--The damper has door.Which closes and open with the help of motor. In your
case the damper door is blocked by ice, because your refrigerator is not defrosting. But when you open the freezer door, the inside ice gets bit warm and it starts melting and this lets the fridge section get cool.-------------------
In this case you will have to manually defrost the ice and inspect, if the problem solves. For manual defrost procedure, click the link below:--------

I unfortunately bought the F & P 450R upright fridge with the matching freezer, recommended to us by Winnings. Expensive and possibly the worst ever appliance purchase I have made. The door handle design is pathetic and once again today, has come apart. The fridge constantly freezes up which then affects the fan, which in turn stops the fridge getting cold. To date, we have had the F & P service out, he first said he needed to get it back to the factory and we'd be up for about $900. After we advised that wasn't happening, he replaced the control unit, which had didn't clear the problem (although still cost me $300). Having no confidence in F & P, we contacted a fridge mechanic with a good name. He closed his eyes when he saw the brand and mumbled, Kiwi's revenge. Long story short, over 3 visits he, adjusted the inadequate door sensor, refitted a temp sensor which had broken from its poorly designed plastic holder, replaced all the sensors and in the end said sorry, but you have bought a lemon. I now have a choice of buying a new fridge which wont match the freezer, buy a new fridge and freezer, even though the freezer is fine, or continue with what we do now, turn the fridge off every other day for 4 or 5 hours to defrost it. My solution, do not go near Fisher and Paykel, the service and machines are just not up to it.
We experienced a smilar problem with your Fisher & Paykle fridge/freezer.
The fan that sends cold air to the Fridge section of the appliance didnt appear to be working leaving the Fridge poorly cooled.
I suggest the first step is to turn the fridge off and leave it to totally defrost.
Build up in ice in the freezer section seemed to have an impact on the proper operation of the fan which seems to relie on a thermostat for its operation.
Having defrosted and cleaned the fridge the problem was solved.
The fans have a delay before switching on after the door is closed. Place a magnet over the door sensor switch and wait to see if the fan works.
The problem could be that the unit has iced over itself over a period of time and defrosting it could solve the problem.
if the compressor is running your ref. should be getting cold. Their is a defrost timer but when it is in defrost the compressor shuts off. I think you do have a leak.
thankyou for your help re the fan. that sounds pretty logical.. shall investigate as it sounds as though I need to find a F&P fridge technician with a new fan to fix it. It seems odd that the error code F15 is not in the manual that comes with the fridge. And they call it a "smart" frig!
