I have a haier esa412m that had that same code e0, in my case it was a loose solder connection for the thermal sensor in front of the evaporator behind the intake air filter, the board with the loose connection sits behind the control pad, you will need to remove the covers, both front and top/side, disconnect the main power board and look for bad solder connects and resolder them, takes about 45 mins if you are a little handy.

One thing you can try is to hold down on the power button and plug the unit in. Hopefully you will hear a "beep". Then you need to unplug it for a minute and plug it back in. This is a known procedure to clear error codes from the control computer on units similar to yours, so it might possibly work. Something else you can do is download and look through the Users Manual for your model, which is at this URL: --> http://www.haier.com/products/product.asp?proID=1797 Hope this helps! ;)

I have the same air conditioner and have call Haier customer support and they are also unable to tell me where the drain is. The manual says not to drill holes in the trap but I think that is the only option.

I had that same problem, find the remote and use that to turn it on / off. It solved the problem for me, for whatever reason. You will need to use the remote until the buttons start working again, took mine a few days. I have no idea what was wrong with it.
Edit: I Still get notifications about this 11 years later. I did figure out what was wrong with it. In my case, the E1 notification was because the control panel on the AC was frozen and not working. But the remote control still worked.

Hi! You need to check pump filter. It could be jammed with a coin or hair clip. Now take the machine outside and empty it then lay it on its side and you can access the pump. Take it off, stand up the machine and pour hot water into the soap draw and check water should run out of bottom freely taking any fluff or bits with it. Now take apart the pump and clean it and dry all components before re-assembly. If the machine still doesn?t work then you need to replace the pump. Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance. Thanks Rylee

I have a 10K window unit that has the same code E0, I replaced the control board and it is fixed. Very easy to do. Works great now.
