Hi, you can tune the channels of the Plasma TV without Remote Control. However, I suggest that you to purchase a new Remote Control of the same model number of the Plasma TV with any near by Plasma TV dealer.
You may have a weak power supply. This would indicate one or two capacitors that are weak or bad. This model may be about 4 years now and this is a good indicator as these capacitors need replacing. The other problem may be the infared board in the TV that receives the signal from the remote may be a problem as well. I would certainly investigate my first thought. The latter is kind of rare. You likely need to select channel three or four on the TV itself if you have any kind of box between you and the signal source (cable, antenna, satellite).
Magnavox is a name owned previously by Philips and now by Funai.
They may not have all the info from Magnavox and Philips but you could check their website to see if they have the instruction manual for download.
