The manual is available from the Mitsubishi Support site: http://support.mitsubishi-tv.com/documents/HS-U448 . The direct link to the manual is http://support.mitsubishi-tv.com/files/oguide/HS-U448.pdf .

The original remote is no longer available. However, remotes.com has a substitute remote: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=HS-U448&uuid=13065385902780 .

A number of universal remotes will probably also work. The codes will be in any remote that still controls a VCR if the remote was programmed after the HS-U448 was released.

I hope this helps.

I have a Mitsubishi HS-U448 VCR. It plays my VHS tapes fine, but I can't get a blue screen when I turn it on. When I press 'play', the movie looks great. Once I hit 'stop', it'

It sounds like it is set to a TV station and since all the analogue stations have now gone you will only get static. Without a remote you wan't be able to switch it. I suggest you either shop around for a replacement (try Curry's partmaster) or use a universal one.

I have a Mitsubishi HSU48. The tape is stuck in the VCR. I cannot get it out. Do you have any suggestions

I had this problem with this specific machine. These answers have all been general to any VCR. The Mitsubishi HS-U448 has its motor underneath the machine. You don't have to remove the top cover at all. Just remove the bottom plate and spin the motor (the correct direction) to completely eject the tape.

How go on L1 without a remote control ? Thanks you :)

Can't be done without a remote. Most universal remotes won't change the input to L1 or L2. Logitech Harmony One works, though. It's not cheap, unfortunately.

How do i connect this vcr to a dvd recorder?

Take a scart cable & connect it from the VCR to AV1 on the DVD recorder. Then when you want to record from the VCR select either AV1 /EXT.1/ AUX1 on the DVD recorder as your choice of input source. It depends on the make of your DVD as to determine how the manufacturer has named this inout.

Can tune mitsubishi HS-651V video player/recorder to watch TV.

Hi Jaco, Have you fed in your Antenna / cable into the Rear of the VCR? And if your VCR has a Input selection switch, just check input to Tuner. You will get Blue screen if input selction is not Tuner but Camera / External source. If this does not solve your problem, then there is no Input selection happening.

Mitsubishi HS-U447 VCR in Lock or "Loc" mode

Hopefully you still the VCR. Your's is stuck in "CHILDLOCK" mode. To release the lock you have to have the remote and press the DISPLAY for 8 to 10 seconds.

The purpose of the CHILDLOCK is to prevent others from using your VCR. If you want to set the VCR back on Lock you again press the DISPLAY for 8 to 10 seconds.

This solution is from the owner manual for HS-U448, so I figure your model is the same.
