I've got Printmaster 12. I had vista before but changed it to windows 7. But now I can't seem to download it onto the computer again. Help

Unfortunately that information you've got is not correct.
You may *not* do that. 1 license, 1 installation. The rule is quite clear. It's one copy (or one license) for each computer. There's nothing new here. This is exactly the same rule that's been in effect on every version of Windows starting at least with Windows 3.1.

Printmaster 16 Platinum is an older program and is compatible with XP and older versions of Windows.

First check which version of Windows 7 that you have. Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If your version title ends with x64, you will need to use an option that lets you run an older version of Windows. If you do not see x64 in the title, then the compatibility mode might work.

For the 32-bit OS, right click on the installer and choose Properties. In the Compatibility tab, check the box for always run in the compatibility mode and select an older version of Windows. Apply the changes and click OK. Then right click again and choose Run as Administrator. You may need to repeat this to run the software as well. This is not guaranteed to work in Windows 7 32-bit.

The alternative is to run an older version of Windows. This could be on a second computer, a dual boot computer or a virtual computer (if your hardware supports the feature). Most of these methods require licensed version of the older Windows OS. If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate or upgrade to them, you can run a virtual XP OS for free. Download Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Then install the Printmaster program in XP as if this is the only OS. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.)

If it is not installing then it is probably not compatible with Vista or 7. Version 12 came out in 2004 and Vista didn't come out until 2006.
You can probably talk to their tech support and ask for sure but I'm sure they will tell you your version is to old for 7.

I've tried looking at HP's website and saw that the only drivers available for download for this model of computer are for Vista or Windows 7 only.
It's still possible to put xp on this machine however you would have to look for the drivers manually. You would have to download them from the manufacturers website and the most rigorous part is to identify the model number and the manufacturer of the device built onto the motherboard of the laptop.
If you can live with it I do suggest you stick with windows 7. BUt if you really have to downgrade to XP better list the model numbers and the names of the device under device manager so you'd know which drivers to download.

Printemaster 16 is not compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7. You will need to upgrade the software.

I've had the same problem and was told it was because this edition of Printmaster is now out dated.

Here's my solution: Don't waste your time and money on, use a program other than PrintMaster! PDF is universally accepted across formats/browsers/OS ...what kind of program would not export THE most commonly used format????

I am guessing that your new computer has windows vista on it. That may be the reason Printmaster 12 will not install. Certain programs or their installations are not compatible with Vista.

I'm not sure what errors you are getting, and I am assuming you are running Windows Vista, so again I'm just guessing.

You could try to launch the setup program manually and using compatibility mode by following these steps:

1. Insert your installation disk.
2. Click the start button

3. Click on Computer
4. Right click on the drive containing your installation CD
5. Select Explore from the menu.
6. Find the Setup or Install file in the list.
7 Right click on it.
8. Select Properties.
9 Select the Compatibility tab at the top.
10. check "Run this program in compatibility mode for"
11. In the drop down menu select windows xp
12. check "disable visual themes"
13. Check "run this program as administrator" (if it is available)
14 click OK

15 now double click on the setup/install program.
