  • You can try pressing "Manual" and then "Scan" or "Band" buttons from the weather setting to get you back to scanning the police, fire, etc.
  • Make sure you don't have a WX (Weather) frequency programmed into on of the regular 50 channels or the scanner will continue to stop every time around as it will pick up the WX frequency.
  • Make sure you have your scanner programmed as well.

Regards, Tony

I have new Uniden Bearcat bct 15x scanner that will not pick up the frequencies I enter. It does however pick up the weather frequency. Can you help?

Without knowing the frequencies, it is hard to diagnose. If you are trying to listen to police, fire, govt freguencies, the transmissions are scrambled or use split multiple frequencies. You will not be able to receive any voice without the key. If channel jumping is used, you will only hear a veryquick burst of audeo if you are lucky enough to be listening to the correct fequency asthe signal travels by onto the next frequency.

What is causing the scanner to stick on a channel?

Did you change the squelch while the scanner stops? even what looks like noise, can stop the scanner from going to the next frequency.

What are the meanings of the police 10 codes?

You use to be able to go to Radio Shack and they would give you a sheet of the codes for free and their meanings. But i don't know if they still do it for free or not.

Uniden bearcat 50 channel 800mhz

The BC60XLT frequency coverage ends at the 512MHZ band. It is not capable of receiving signals in the 800MHz band. For more information you can download and print the factory manual here:

Uniden Bearcat BC 350A scanner won't pick up 800 channels

You BC350A provides coverage of popular bands between 29 and 512MHz, so it is not capable of receiving signals in the 800MHz range. Sorry, but you'll need a different scanner to follow the action.
