I have a Maytag Neptune Model #MAH5500BWW, and it leaks water only while it's filling. It's almost like it would rather fill my floor than the tub. When I start a spin only cycle to get the water out of the tub, there is no leak. I've checked all of the house, and the water is not coming from you back. It's at the bottom. What could that be?

There are a number of places where the water leaks out. There should be a plate in the back that you can remove. Then put the machine into the fill position and look with a flash light. You should be able to find the leak that way. There are several hoses above the drum; any one of these could be leaking

Sounds like a leak either in the bottom, connector or water valve for your water inlet line. Visually finding the leak is your best bet, then you know what parts are to be replaced.

SOURCE: tub fills with water

replace water valve in the washer. Serial number is needed to find the correct part number. It's likely 22003834, but call any parts supplier with model/serial numbers to verify.

Good luck,

Hi I have a Maytag Neptune model MAH5500BWW Serial B4585662GA. When I turn the drum, I can still hear water inside/behind the drum. Thank you

This is normal. There is a balance ring filled with water attached to the inner drum. The balance ring is sealed and is not supposed to be empty. When you turn the inner drum by hand, you're hearing the water settling down from the now upper chambers of the balance ring.

Maytag neptune mah5500bww leaking water

Here is the solution I found that worked for me, there is a small drain hole at the bottom of the boot that is connected to a drain hose. Remove the hose and clean out to make sure that it has not become plagged. replace hose and reattach boot. Mine stoped leaking imediately.

Maytag neptune

This can be a bad inlet water valve.  Does it stop filling when you unplug unit?  If it does,  your valve is probably ok.  If it doesn't,  replace inlet valve assembly.
If water does stop,  you may have problem where the air dome has become dislodged.  You need to remove a inner drum vane and then turn this spot to the bottom.  There should be a black ruuber unit there.  This is the air dome.  It mist be seated.
