What does printer error code 5800 mean?

This is an ink overuse error. It may read 5B00 and not 5800.

I have a cannon pixma mp 500 printer and I and getting a error code 5010 how can I fix this issue? Thank You

unfortuantely according to canon website, if turning it off/on doesn't clear the error then it will require a "repair service". Doesn't acutally say what the problem is I'm afraid.

I keep getting error 1500 message from my canon mp 150 printer ever since transporting overseas from another location. Drivers are all installed. After printer is turn on I getting flashing LCD lights....

Canon printer mp 510 error 5010

That is a purge system error, either you need a new purge assembly or there is a paper scrap caught in there stopping it. The purge unit is on the right where the printhead parks at shutdown and where the printhead is cleaned.

ERROR CODE 5010

Hi Friend,
kindly follows the below 2 steps

1.Reset the device when it is not functioning properly. If the device is not functioning properly or to clear memory, reset it.

On the operator panel, press and hold the <ON/OFF> button for one second. (The display will go blank.)

Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord if pressing the ON/OFF button does not shut off the printer.
Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the <ON/OFF> button again.
Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request.

2.The MP510 may require repair

Unfortunately, the issue you describe seems to indicate that your product requires repair service. Canon has excellent service options and we are eager to provide any assistance you may need.

CANON PIXMA ERROR 5800

The waste absorber is full ,Replace the pads
then if you still get the error,you can reset it by following the directions below.
(reset without replacing pads can cause damage)

1) Enter SERVICE MODE By pressing Menu-Scan-Copy-Scan
2) Enter NVRAM by pressing <--- or ---> then OK
3)SET ABS-M LEVEL TO 0
4)OK

Check printer 5B00

Hi guys,
Error code 5B00 indicates absorber full error. To fix this problem you need to reset waste absorber counter and replace waste ink absorber. Unfortunately you don't write the printer model so I cannot write reset procedure here.

Canon IR 1600 error message

Note: To reset E000, E001, E002, E003, go to service mode 4. select SET, go to "#7 PRINT-ER," in service mode. Then press Execute "#4 PRINTER RESET." Power the unit off/on.

Welcome to Fixya.

Please try the following steps to resolve this problem - this same procedure worked for my colleague :

Power off printer
Hold down STOP/RESET button then Press and Hold down Power button
Keep Power button down and Release STOP/RESET button
Push STOP/RESET button twice
let go of power button
Wait 20-30 seconds - my display shows "canon Idle"
Then Push STOP/RESET button four times
Push Power button twice
Power off (shut printer down)
Wait for at least 5 seconds and power it back on

This should do the trick and will get you printing again in no time.
