It may be that you have the humidity level is set to high and all it's doing is maintaining. The fan runs to continually to circulate the air. If the sensor picks up a change in humidity, the compressor will turn ON. This happens mostly when the unit is operated in continuous mode. Try lowering the humidity setting to 45% or minimal if you don't have an LCD screen.

If you want t do an at home test, to see if it's working properly ... Move the unit to the bathroom, trun the shower ON hot enough to generate steam. Turn the unit ON and set it at it's LOWEST Level. DO NOT turn the bathroom's exhaust fan ON. As you exit the bathroom, close the door. Return to the bath room after 15 or 20 minutes, turn the shower OFF and allow the unit to run for 5 more minutes. Check the bucket for water and if you find any, it's working as it should.

If you don't find any, be sure that the air intake filter is clean. If that doesn't do the trick, the compressor may be low on refrigerant and needs to be recharged.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

If the machine's compressor runs when you switch it on, then turn the machine on maximum and let it run for an hour or so. Then check the coils in the back with your hand. If they are not getting cold at all, then there is a significant problem with the refrigeration process in the unit. It may have developed a leak and allowed your refrigerant gas to escape, or there may be another internal problem with the compressor. Either way you would need to have it serviced by a fridge technician, or more likely just replaced with a whole new unit since both options can potentially cost about the same.

If the unit runs normally and the coils are getting cold, then make sure they are not totally icing up which will impede the unit's performance. Also make sure that the room is warm enough. A dehumidifier will not work properly if the ambient air temperature is too low. Basically, the warmer and more humid the room is, the better they work. Add heat to the room if necessary to improve the unit's performance.

Dehumdifier not collecting water.

It may be that the humidity level or temperature in the room where your dehumidifier is located is too low.

When the outdoor temperature is below 50 F, the indoor air will be dry even when the air inside is warm, therefore when it's cold outside the dehumidifier may collect little or no water.

Air conditioners will also remove moisture from the room, even if it's hot and humid outside, resulting in little or no moisture collecting in the dehumidifier bucket.

Some dehumidifiers have a deicer which turns off the compressor but keeps the fan running. When the compressor is off, moisture is not removed from the air. The deicer turns off the compressor when the room temperature is cold.

Some dehumidifiers do not have a deicer. If the room temperature is low enough, ice may form on the evaporator coil. The ice prevents the dehumidifier from removing and collecting water. If ice forms on coils, unplug dehumidifier until ice melts and room temperature rises.

The filter (on some models) may be dirty or clogged. If so, clean the filter. For instructions on cleaning the filter.

I hope this help to solve, if this answer solve it, remember to rate it. Good luck.

Start up instruction for dehumidifier

A dehumidifier does not need water in the tank.It takes humidity out of the air and the moisture goes into the bucket. A humidifier has to have water in the tank.Note ,a humidifier puts moisture in the air, and a dehumidifier takes the moisture takes moisture out of the air.

No moisture

check to see if the coils in the back are cold. if they are not, you either have no freon or the vent in the front is blocked and the condenser coils have no air flow to cool down. if they are, there might not be sufficient air flow across the evaporator coils or the air is already dry.

also, if the bucket switch isn't activated (due to the bucket not being in all the way), the fans will come on, but not the compressor.
