You will need to reset the printer wireless network adapter first. How to Restore the Network Settings on the X4650 AIO to the Original Factory Defaults. After resetting the network settings, launch the Lexmark wireless setup utility on your laptop. Follow the instructions on your computer screen.

I`ll guess You`ll have to connect your PC to the printer with the use of a usb cable.
Then run the Lexmark software (Lexmark printer home) or similar (don`t know what you are using?)... Go to "settings"; and choose wireless setup utility. You`ll have to manually set the SSID (the wanted wireless network) and the WIFI password for this network. Hope this will help.

Cannot connect my acer 5600 wirelessly. WIFI is not lighted on. It says to turn on wireless switch.

The wireless switch is on the front edge of the laptop. With the lid closed, its position on the front edge is just under the right latch of the lid. Turn on by sliding the switch to the right momentarily. You should see Wireless LAN Enabled in large green letters appear briefly at the bottom of the screen. A single screen icon should appear in the desktop's Toolbar at the bottom right of the screen. If the icon doesn't appear, then likely the Wireless Network Connection is disabled. To enable do the following steps....
1. click start button at bottom right of screen
2. click Control Panel
3. in the Control Panel window, click Network Connections
4. right click Wireless Network Connection
5. on the drop-down menu click enable
If there is no Wireless Network Connection in the Control Panel's Network Connection, then the setting up of the Wireless Network Connection was skipped when the laptop was first unpacked and setup. In Control Panel, click on the Wireless Network Setup Wizard to setup the Wireless Network Connection.

If the printer you want to connect the laptop to is a wireless printer you should be all right.

Have you configured the wireless adapter on both the printer and laptop for the correct freq or channel?

Can't connect to netwoork

Just configure the wireless settings your laptop. Go to Network Connections > Right-click on Wireless Network > Properties. Go to Wireless Network tab and look for Preferred Networks. Just remove all of them and click OK.

Now, On the Network Connections, right-click on Wireless Network Connection > View Available Wireless Networks. Connect to your own wireless network and enter your wireless network key if it tells you to type it. That should fix your wireless connection. Now if your wireless network is not showing, you need to change the wireless channel of your router by accessing the router's setup page using your wired computer.

Wireless printing

I assume you have a wireless network set up with a wireless router, since you said you have a wireless laptop.
You need to share the printer on the desktop. You also need to set up both computers to be on the same network (for example, WORKGROUP or MSHOME, or a name of your choosing).Once shared and on the same network, you can go to the laptop and add a printer--just tell it that it is a network printer.
A caution--to work without further hassle, both computers need to be running the same version of Windows. If not, you'll need the driver disk for the system on your laptop.

COMPAC LAPTOPS

  1. turn on the computer that has the printer attached.
  2. configure computer to share (start/settings/printer-faxes/right click on default printer/select sharing tab/ select share this printer/ apply settings/OK)(This computer must also be connected to the router so your laptop will see it as a network device)
  3. on wireless laptop, add printer
  4. when prompted select network printer.

For my wifes ease of use I purchased for $20.00 network magic which auto configured all my devices and monitored any access to my wireless router so I could choose who could access my open router.
