reset didn't helped.

sounds logical that the control may be malfunctioning. check again your user guide about required conditions for the cold water wash cycle to start.

How old is this washer?
And is it a US machine or a European machine? These 2 are almost completely different machines.
Since they are so different, the cures can also be different.

Bosch comes with a 2 year exchange or refund guarantee on their machines. So if you are withing the 2 year time period, I would contact the local Bosch service center with your problem.

Also, has the machine had any other repairs done to it recently? Has it displayed any behavior that doesn't seem "right" Reason I ask can have a lot to do with what might be causing the problem. This is sounding like a controller card fault.
Or it could be that the display is showing an incorrect error code.

Lets cover the above questions, and go from there.

Check your cold water hose and make sure that the little screen is clean. On the back of the washer you will find two hoses. One will feel warm and the other cold. Turn off the washer and unplug it. Have a bucket and some towels nearby. unscrew the hoses and clean the little filters at the ends carefully. sometimes sand can get in there and completely stop water from entering. While you're there make sure your cold water valve is turned all the way on and that they hose is not twisted or flattened in any way.

I hope this works for you. Thank You for using Fix Ya!

Dear sir/madam,

Enter the test program by:

1. Set the cycle knob to any "X" (reset) position

2. Press and hold the Pre-wash and the Start buttons at the same time. While still holding these buttons, turn the unit on by pressing the On/Off button

3. Keep holding the Pre-wash and the Start buttons until the digital display comes on (about 5 seconds)

The digital display will show 00 for no faults or will show a fault code.

To end the test program turn the washer off at any time.

thanks
good luck

Initially check the filter on your washing machine and clean if necessary, your manual should detail this procedure. If your machine will not start or complete the programme, check:

  • The plug, the socket and the switch, if necessary, with another appliance.
  • The fuse in the plug.
  • That the door is closed.
  • That a programme is accurately selected.

My Bosch WFK2401 washer has stopped filling. The cycle will count down and the pump will run to drain (but nothing to drain!). I have checked the supply lines, there is water and the filter screens are...

I suspect the solenoid on the water input connection has failed, this is the unit that allows water into the machine , if you know a bit open the lid and you should see this just inside behind the cold water connection.

Lid Switch Assembly

If the washer stops mid cycle the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Water Inlet Valve

If the washer stops mid cycle the water inlet valve cold water side may have failed. Most washers have a cold water rinse and so if they can't fill with cold water they just sit indefinitely waiting for the cold water to enter. If there is cold water to the water inlet valve and the cold water works in other parts of the cycle - or to make warm water - the valve is not the problem.

On my Maytag Washing Machine...Sometimes my water selector works... sometimes it doesnt. Sometime hot will come out when set on cold and sometimes cold will come out when set on hot.. Sometimes it works...

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly. Just reading this it sounds like the water temp selector switch is acting up. You did not provide a model number so this is just an outright guess to help you. Try this if you have the button type start mashing the buttons several times between temps. Do it with conviction. Your cycling the switch to unstick or clean off the contacts in the switch. If the cycle temp switch fails while doing this; changing the switch was the next recomendation to correct the temp problem. You should cycle the switch at least 30 times methodically. Press, change temp, press repeatedly. Then check your cycle water temps for hot and cold as selected. Depending upon model you could have a problem with the water inlet valve. I will wait for a response before commenting on that.

If you need specific model information I need your Model number.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Our Bosch WFK 2401 keeps filling with hot water - even when a cold cycle is selected.

The problem is the water inlet valve has failed. Although it is only the cold water the whole valve needs to be replaced. There are 2 solenoids on the valve 1 for cold 1 for hot the cold water solenoid has failed. The reason it works in the softner is it uses a separate solenoid to let water in there.

Check the below link , it might be useful;

My bosch wfk 2401 when i start the wash everything is fine then after a couple of minutes it starts beeping the error code 01. i have checked to make sure the filters are cleaned out and that the water...

Hello and welcome to fixya.

I'll start by saying you're right the "01" error code is indicating a fill problem has been detected by the control.

Have you tried just a "cold" water wash ? If not try selecting "quick wash" and on the dial turn it to #1 "cold" in the cotton setting see what happens. Do the same and select #3 "hot". If the error occurs in one and not the other, observe and either focus on the hot water valve or the cold main wash valve ( I don't think it is the cold prewash valve or the error would occur immediately ).

In fact I suspect it is the main wash cold valve ( dual valve ) since you haven't indicated the error occurs during prewash and the hot water valve is energized in prewash by design to help rinse out the detergent no matter what cycle or temp. you selected.

Having said all that, here's what you're dealing with. Even though you appear to have sufficient water flow as you stated you checked for, the electronic control doesn't think it is correct.
There are several factor's which could possibly be causing this error, a couple you've mentioned.

They are...

Water supply turned off. ( obviously not in this case )

Water inlet hose filters (strainers/screens) blocked. ( you've said you cleaned them out )

Water pressure too low. ( must be no lower than 14.5psi and a max. of 145psi )

Water inlet valve(s) has failed. ( this doesn't appear likely...at least at first, not completely failed based on your description...but the control may think it has. If you have an ohm meter you can check it. the coils should have a value of between 2.7 and 3.3k ohms. That means 2700ohms and 3300ohms. If not within those values the control will detect the value being incorrect , hence displaying the "01" error. Change the valve, Bosch part # 265772, or repairclinic.com # 467537.
The Hot water valve if need be is Bosch part # 171295 or repairclinic.com # 423900 )

Control module has failed. ( Not very likely either...but possible...if not the valves. )

Let me know what you find as I will watch for your reply here. Thanks for visiting "fixya". Please take a moment and rate the info provided for you here today.

Let me know if you require further assistance.

Thanks and good luck.
