Stanby button flashes. TV will not turn on. I have tried unplug it and turning it back on and still the same problem. How do I resolve this. Sony FD Trinitron Wega KV-34HS420 will not power on. Stanby red light flashes 6 times. The TV works fine for several days then will not power on for a few days. The problem comes and goes! I have unplugged the for 1 minute and this does not help!
Hi,
It seems problem in BY board in your KV-34HS420 TV. this board is called DRC Engine as well. Its part number and description is ...
A-1302-942-A HBY BOARD, COMPLETE
Its available HERE and price is apporx $82.00
Hope this info will help you out.
THe 6 blinks indicate a problem in the high voltage section. The most common failure part is the horizontal output transistor. This is a 3-legged part attached to a heatsink close by the flyback transformer (part with large red wire coming out the top). Try replacing this part first. That may resolve the problem. The part should be marked something like C5438. This wouldmean that the actual part number is 2SC5438. Please note that this number is only an example. Let me know if that does not resolve the problem
6 blinks means, LOW +B OCP/OVP(overcurrent/overvoltage)
+5 line is overloaded. (A, B, M Boards)
+5 line is shorted. (A, B, M Boards)
This type of failure might be reset if it is intermittent getting into the service menu but you will need to have the service manual to do it.
Let me know if you required further assistance.
Try at your own risk the following procedure. If that did not work, then there is a hardware failure on your TV.
If the picture is not readable, right click on you mouse and save it as a picture to be able to make it bigger.
The hardware failure could be due to a defective IC504 that is a 5 volts regulator.
Good Luck.

Dear sir/madam,
Replacing the G board should bring your set back to life. Also check 1.) If the inside of the cabinet is dusty is causes damage to the
circuits. Solution: Clean the cab and find/replace the bad circuits. 2.) There is a broken solder somewhere. check out
thanks
good luck
