Maybe the rental Blu-ray disc is a copy one from a protected Blu-ray disc. You can return the disc to the owner or you can just simply remove the protection using some tools such as Leawo Blu-ray Cinavia Removal This tool is able to remove protection like cinavia and other protections such as AACS.

It is not the player you need to reset, it is the rental DVD's. They are encrypted with a code to limit the amount of time they can be watched, thereby protecting them from being stolen or not returned. Send them back to the rental company and rent the same movies again. That is your only solution. Your player will play whatever is put into it. I hope this helps.

My samsung bd-p1600 will not play blu ray movies

If it plays other Blue Ray discs OK then either the disc is faulty or it is the wrong region. If it previously played, then my bet is that the disc has a scratch or dirt on it. If you have another blue-ray player or you have a friend with one try it on that or theirs.

Since you have done all the updates then Samsung should replace your model, there is nothing more that can be done until they come up with a solution.

try to use a toothpick and put it on the small hole just beside the player so that you could remove/insert discs. Play it manually if the remote did not work...

New Blu-Ray disc won't play on Samsung BD-P1600. It's Disney's "Tangled". I've updated the firmware. The disc loads so you see the Disney castle, and then it stops there. Well, the timer is...

Press the stop button on your controller when you get to the Disney castle, then press the disc menu button on your controller, this should take you to the disc menu and then you can choose play and watch the movie. This worked for me, I was having the same problem, even returned the Bluray disc, got a new one and same thing happened. The same problem is happening with the Tron bluray discs.

My bluray player is a samsung bd-p1500 and terminator salvation the bluray wont play it never even gets to the menu?

All disc players have a thing called stacked tolerance. What it boils down to is some transports in players will not play certain discs; plain and simple.

All you can do it test it out on another BD player to make sure the disc is fine and test another disc in your BD player and make sure it hasn't gone defective.

Sorry I don't have an easy fix, this is not an uncommon problem.
