12VDC, 1.5A external power adapter Well that is what this page says, it's not your 120GB drive but unsure if it's no the same model maybe. However all external HDD that need a power supply should be needing 12 volts, as they are just internal drives mounted in a shell and some simple circuitry to power and connect it.

    My Simpletech - Simpledrive takes a DC adapter 5v 1a - a bit smaller than rec above. AVAILABLE AT AMAZON

    I got the information I posted on voltage above directly from the manufacturer of this product.

    160 GB 2.5-inch USB 2.0 portable hard drive for fast, reliable desktop or laptop storage
    5400 RPM spin rate; 8 Mb buffer cache; transfer speeds up to 480 Mb/s
    Powers via USB connection
    Designed by Pininfarina, the designer of Ferrari sports cars
    Well when I looked it up at Simpletech's site it kept saying 12 volt power supply, when the specs say it's only powered by USB, with no mention of having a DC power port. I apologize for my previous information. Yet apparently fostersgirl has one and she has a DC adapter for hers.

How can I get a replacement power supply?

What you are after is an AC adapter this model I found on ebay has 120 volts to 240 volts to 12 volts make sure the DC voltage output matches the Voltage of your hard drive. The current output has to be the same amount or larger in value. So if your drive needs 2A a 2A or larger value means it can handle the current load put on it by the Hard drive.

Describe your Western Digital 250GB MyBook External USB 2.0 250 GB Hard Drive Problem Do you have a picture of the voltage and amperage adapter for the Western Digital 250GB MyBook External HD ?

I don't have a photo of the AC adapter, but if you look on it the Voltage and Amperage specifications are;

Input: 100-240VAC / 50~60Hz
Output: 12VDC / 2A

This means the Input power can be from 100 volts to 240 Volts AC, and at 50 to 60 Hertz

The Output power is 12 Volts DC at no more than 2 Amp's. (Amperes)

Asian Power Devices Inc. has a model DA-24B12 that fits these specs.
Also a Wattac AC adapter model number - BAO362Zl-8-A01 will work.

Otherwise just use a 12 Volt, 2 Amp power pack, with a positive on center contact, and a 2mm pin hole
