Gateway laptop computer screen is upside down and can not use mouse

Shortcut Key To Flip The Screen In the Windows TO 180 Degree..
The shortcut is (or should be, read below**)
for normal windows : Ctrl + Alt + <Up arrow> (or shift+alt+<up arrow>)
and for 180 deg it is : Ctrl + Alt + <Down arrow> (or shift+alt+<down arrow>)
However, you should know that these are default shortcuts for
Intel Extreme Graphics Controller, and you can change them. To
check / change or disable these keys go to control panel->Intel Extreme Graphics->Hot Keys.
**sometimes the shortcuts do not work. This happens when you have not enabled rotation
feature in Display Settings under Intel Graphics Media Accelerator media. You need to
enable rotation in order to be able to Rotate / Flip your windows screen upside down / 90 / 180 / 270 degrees.

Mouse: with mouse, do you mean a usb mouse or the mousepad? if the mousepad isnt working, check ur "F" keys for an icon that looks like a mousepad icon. Then press the "Fn" key + the corresponding mousepad icon key and see if it works.

Lords of Magic wont run

Many older games have problems running on newer systems, and while windows' compatibility modes can sometimes help, most of these games require specific work-around to get them to work on a modern system with a modern OS. You will need to look for consumer support (IE: Forums) for the specific title you are trying to play as it relates to your hardware and OS. Sorry I could not be of more help.

I want vga&sound drivers for 3260

The eMachines 3260 is a UK model. I don't see driver download support at the UK site.

However the eMachines 3260 uses an Intel D845GVSR motherboard. Let's go to Intel Support, and see if the graphics, and audio drivers are available;

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&keyword=%22Intel+Desktop+Board+D845GVSR%22

On this page select the Operating System you are using. I am going to use Windows XP, as an example. (Home Edition or Pro Edition, doesn't matter)

Shows 7 drivers.
Among them are;
1) Intel Extreme Graphics Driver for 845 Chipset-Based Intel Desktop Boards

2) Audio: Realtek* AC97 Audio Driver

Download AND install these two drivers.

What is the combination of keys (shortcut) to change the screen resolution (not orientation).

There is no Fn-Fx key combination to change screen resolution (at leat on my R10 running Windows XP. Even if you create a shortcut to open the graphics properties you still have to open the relevant tab manually to change resolutions.
You can open the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 for mobile icon on the tray, go to the graphic properties change the resolution and save as a scheme. With a customized scheme defined you will be able to click the Intel Graphic properties and select that scheme. But be careful, your tablet pen will no longer be calibrated with the available screen area.
I tried on my R10 (native resolution 1024x768) and all I could select was 800x600@ 60Hz.

Desktop ( Emachines 210 ) Very slow ? Ran via win xp proffesional

Try going to the control panel>performance and maintenance>disk cleanup. After running cleanup run the defrag. You can also cleanup your internet browser by deleting cookies, temp internet files, & browsing history. See if this helps speed up the system. Hope this helps & please rate this solution fixya. Right Click on your desktop and choose Properties
Click on the Settings tab> Advanced button> Intel Extreme Graphics tab>Graphics PropertiesDisplay Settings
UNCHECK Enable Rotation then Apply.

Screen upsidedown

Hello agahan

My guess is that you have an Intel Extreme Graphics card in there. After doing some looking around, it looks like there is an adjustable option that will let you rotate the screen as needed, and there are 2 different ways to address it:

http://www.computing.net/answers/windows-2000/logon-screen-is-upsidedown/62429.html

From the Forum:
"To stop it happening again right-click on an empty area on the desktop, click on 'properties' then on the 'settings' tab followed by the 'Advanced' button. On here there is a tab relating to graphics, mine says 'Intel(R) Extreme Graphics' click on the tab then on the 'Graphics properties' button, choose the 'rotation' tab and remove the tick from the 'Enable Rotation' - remember to click 'apply'."

It is also noted that you can try Ctrl+Alt+Any Arrow to adjust the direction of your view. Check on both of those, and see if that helps.

Screen rotates, pen doesn't

Is it maybe possible it is a hardware prob? maybe the directional sensor in the tablet was displadced.

BTW i have the same tablet and need an harddrive replacement/upgrade, how did you manage to do that? what kind of drive and where to buy? Viewsonic seems not so eager to help me out with that.

Best,

Fredrik
