My pc says input signal out of range and ntldr is missing what do i do

MISSING NTLDR FILE
To repair missing NTLDR or corrupted system file/s, boot up with the Windows installation CD then - Press R to repair when instructed. Press 1 or Enter to repair the C:\Windows folder. Then type chkdsk /r and then press Enter. The repair process will take quite a long time.

I can get into the Boot First Screen but can't seem to change anything within it... These screens seems to be selectively responsive to my key presses.... I can get the bios screen up, boot order screen up but not necessarily do anything within them... e.g. I can't restart the pc using ctrl alt del when the missing NTLDR message appears.... also I have put an XP disc in and it says to press any key to BOOT from CD .... I Do so but obviously it doesn't recognise it so it gives me the missing NTLDR message again! :(

First check your bios & make sure it see's your hard drive & it's setup correctly. If it is there could can be other reasons for the missing NTLDR.
Suggest you take you Windows CD and boot to it. If your CD does not boot. Re-start the PC & start pressing the F8 key every two seconds. This will bring up a boot menue. Choose your cdrom drive.
Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows. Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "1" key and pressing enter. You will then be prompted for your administrator password, enter that password. Copy these two files to you Hd. copy e:\i386\ntldr c:\
copy e:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\
Replace the drive letter listed above for your cdrom's drive letter.
Once copy has been complete re-boot your Pc.
If you still get missing NTLDR. Do a complete reinstall of windows. Your personal data should stay intact.
