We understand that your problem is: sony kf42sx300u. the tv was working well until yesterday when it appeared to have suddenly gone in to a standby mode...it is constantly in the same mode where the red light stays on and the green light flashes every so often - every 5-10 seconds. we have turned off of tv, removed the plug from socket and no joy still

Good day!

You have a better chances if you have failing capacitors on the power supply section.

Follow this procedure on how to replace the capacitors.

  1. Remove the back cover of your TV.
  2. Look for the power supply board.
  3. After that,look for the leak or bulged on the top capacitors.
  4. If you found ,replaced it with the same type,ratings and value.
  5. And finally after you replaced bad capacitors on the board,plug-in your TV and power it ON to test if it is OK.

There are two things you can try. Press "Sleep" until you see "off" appears. If this doesn't fix the problem, go to the "Eco" settings and set "Power Saving" to "Off", set "Idle TV Standby" to off, and "Auto Shut Off" to "off". I hope this works for you.

I have a Sony Bravia, Model: KDL40BX450. It's red 'stand-by' light has suddenly gone off and I cannot turn on the TV. What's going on?

I have a sony Bravia 40" LED TV. KDL40BX450.When I turn my set on it has no sound. And the standby light blinks three times and pauses. I have unplugged it. and even reset it to the factory settings. And as long as the set is on the sound works.but once I turn it off. and turn it back on later.it does the same thing again.no sound. what could be wrong .And is there anything I can do to maybe fix it.

I got my new samsung series 5 tv yesterday and had the ps3 working, then it had a green screen and now the tv wont come out of what appears to be standby mode

unplug the tv for 10 mins to let the tv reset then

try video reset

when ps3 is in standby mode(red light)
press and hold the power button till you hear a second beep.

standby mode press hold power........"beep"......"beep"..release power button
