I have a Casio Exilim EX-Z600 I used it on holiday and viewed the photos on the camera, however when I got home the camera will not power on with the SD card is in it. If I take out the SD card the camera will power up. How can I download my photos?

Get an sd card reader at walmart or any other place that has some computer stuff there like 5 to 10 dollars they plug in by usb connection and are usually much faster way to get stuff off the card.

You don't need any special software in order to use your camera.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa.
I would recomend you to reset the camera, this will not affect any of your saved pictures.
This can be done simpely by acessing : Menu, settings, reset to facory settings (Factory settings)

More than likely, you've just got a bad camera. I've helped with several problems with P/S cameras where the screens are either noisey or records a static like image. 9 times out of 10, it's the processor. Unless the camera is new or still under extended warranty..,
I have a EX-Z600 and i tried updating the firmware to a 1.03, as i did the 1.02. Doing exactly what the instructions say. Now after i placed the update in the root directory and taking the camera off the cradle i was pressing the menu button and pressed the on button to get the program update page but the camera screen would only show version 1.02 then it would turn on. Why does it do that? I have also had the problem, since i got the camera, that sometimes the camera wont turn on unless i take out the battery and put it back in, why is that? Can anybody please help me.
