SOLUTION Mostly a new genuine cartridge from HP does not have such problem , but you can try cleaning the heads by using the head cleaning utility in your printer software. or you can rub a few drops of isopropryl alcohol on the print head,(that is available on local drug store) and run the head cleaning utility.
WHY THIS OCCURS This problem occurs either if the ink tank is going to be empty, or using a refilled ink cartridge, or you print head is jammed, or the ink cartridge is defective.
KNOW HOW DOES THE PRINTER PRINTS The inkjet printer prints by spraying the required amount of inks from the numerous and try print head nozzles, it uses three colors for printing color prints i.e, CYAN, MAGENTA & YELLOW, clean nozzles means the perfect result, now if the CYAN nozzle is blocked then the printer cannot fire the blue ink and the result is that the blue places in the printout is changed into red, if some of nozzles of all three colors or one or two is blocked then you will have horizontal lines all over the print out.

My Officejet 6000 E609n printer doesn't print the correct colors. The red is printing yellow and the blue and green are a lighter version of what is on the screen. I have cleaned the printer head

Hi,

This is not a cartridge issue. IT is Printhead issue. Since you have done the manual cleaning, it is now time to replace the Printhead.

Prints "blue" on a document that supposed to be "red"

the red color contains the blue and magenta colors so your problem is not printing blue insted of red , your red laser miror is dirty from inside you should open the back of the printer then open the laser scaner then clean it then replace it

I just fix in new black and coloured cartridges and only black and red colours appear on my prints. the replaced coloured cartridge was giving similar print problems.

hi im josh in cebu phils. friend may i help you? it happen try to shake the cartridge that doesn't print.and install it again and just remember this: Problem: Your Color Printer Doesn't Print All Available Colors This problem is most likely caused by an old ink cartridge. It's not unusual for some colors to get depleted before others, throwing off your color output. If you're seeing less blue (or red or yellow or black) than normal, chances are it's time to change your cartridge. so thats all good luck
