Might have taken a lightening strike, knocked out GFCI that was on the circuit that garage door opener was on. When I ... And sometimes after it happens it takes 30 or so seconds before the opener will work again. ... The keypad unit worked well butneither the homelink or the remote units worked.
Aug 6, 2005 - The house did not lose power and I do not believe the house was actually hit. ... the light comes on on the unit (as expected), but neither door opens or ... Afterplugging it back in, try opening the door with the hardwired button first - if it still doesn'twork, chances are your opener's taken some damage but not ...
Post the model number of your opener. It is on the end of the motor unit nearest the door. It starts with 139. Also post the model number of your new remote. It should also start with 139.
You don't normally ever need to reset the remote but.....................
Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and hold the button on your remote while you press and immediately release the smart/learn button. If this doesn't work either your remote or the receiver has quit working. Make sure the battery in the remote is good.,
There really isn't a reset when a unit just quits. If you have another remote or wireless keypad that is still working then your remote just failed. If you don't have another unit there is a possibility that the receiver could have failed and you can't tell without a known working unit. Sorry that is the best I can do for you.
Locate
the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all
those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then
walk over to the keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and
press enter.
You may need help with this if you cannot get up on a small ladder.
If you go into the actual unit (on the ceiling) you will see the "code" of the opener. You then program the inside of the remote(s) (take them apart) to match what the actual opener is. Or you can look at the one that works and make the other(s) match that. It is a series of little toggles.
