Lower spray arm dislodged during wash cycle

Hello Megan Quintas,

I have had the bottoms of the Frigidaire DISHWASHER rotted out AND their center-shaft NEVER LOST IT'S vertical alignment...

So my personal opinion...

You are good once you replace your defective spray arm..

Put your model+make+spray+arm

or better yet the ORIGINAL PART NUMBER to get three estimates...

Good luck, happy hunting!!

What to do if your Dishwasher isn't cleaning well...

Check the following when experiencing poor cleaning results:

- Dispenser (Where you put the Dishwasher Tablet or Powder)
Make sure that the flap holding the powder in is not loose.
Make sure it is dry before ever putting in powder.

- Dispenser (Flap Type)
To check if it is still opening for the Spray Arms (Spray Arms need to throw water on the Powdered contents to wash the dishes) - Put the Dishwasher in a cycle, and halfway through the cycle, open the door. if it has not opened then maybe the solenoid/actuator needs to be replaced.

- Program Selector (Not the component, the function selected)
More time consuming programs are more likely to wash more effectively, try selecting these with a higher heat setting instead of your usual programs like quick wash etc..

- Machine overloaded.
Make sure the baskets are not overloaded with dishes, mugs & glasses as this can make spray arms find it more difficult to clean between them

- Soap
In tests regarding powder vs. 3 in 1 tablets like "finish", it has been shown that powder gets dissolved much better, this is because the 3 in 1 tablets are designed to disintegrate on certain heating phases of only a select few brands of Dishwashers. So if you are unsure, or experiencing undissolved tablet - Use powdered dishwasher soap instead.

- Salt container
Refill the Salt container every 3 - 4 months depending on how frequent you use the dishwasher

- Spray arms
These can often be clogged with dirty water etc. clean these with toothpicks and pressured water.

- Filter
Clean these every time after a wash, usually found at the bottom of the dishwasher where water drains away.

- Over the counter products
These can be bought at Appliance spare outlets or even at some supermarkets. Use these as the directions indicate.

- Element (Last step if not improved)
Replacing a element is usually a last option, if no improvement was experienced by doing all of the above it could be that the element is not heating at the right temperature, or not heating at all.
Either replace this yourself (with various degrees of difficulty depending to the Make and model) or get a qualified service technician to do it with you.

Hope this helps :-)

Why is water not heating in cycle?

Hello Kevin, thank you for your post!
From my understanding your Electrolux dishwasher is not fully dissolving the detergent tablet. It may not be an issue with the water heating up it could be a possible problem with the water not receiving adequate pressure or not enough water. Does your dispenser have any build up inside of it? Have your spray arms been recently cleaned? I would recommend cleaning the dispenser and spray arms out. I can also provide you with information regarding any heater inside of your dishwasher. In order to do so I need your model number. You can locate your model number on the inside wall of your dishwasher. With this information I would be happy to assist you further. -Matt

Tablet not melting in the dishwasher and the dishes are coming out dirty

I much prefer liquid dishwasher detergent for this reason. Have you tried this? Also, I find I have the best luck when I start with hot water rather than waiting for the machine to heat the water. I do this by getting hot water to the sink (while rinsing the dishes before putting them inside) and then starting the dishwasher.

Liquid is also easier to distribute when considering the pre wash vs the main wash cycle.

Another thing you might try is breaking the tablet up before putting it in the machine.

The third thing I might suggest is you try powedered detergent for dish washers.

I hope this helps you ... thanks for visiting today.

Dish washer gets to hot in pot scrubber mode

did it distort the spray arm? A lot of times if it's the spray arm that melted it's possible that it was jammed while trying to heat the water and the heat from the element would warp it.

Detergent tablet not dissolving.

sometimes the dispenser doors are not designed for tablets, and they don't let enough water in to dissolve them....next time you wash; put the tablet in one of the silverware compartments....should do the trick. and leave the dispenser door for liquid detergents only.

if this is helpful please click the correct button. thanks
