This is tech side of programming and not Admin, if you don't know config password or how to program then call a tech. If you do know then: First find out what line #, do F*0 then press the button and note the full number on the display. i.e. Line 5 in programming is Line 005, 025 or 031 depending on software version.

No, the M7208 is a propriatary set which requires the PBX to function, whereas the aastra phone is a stand alone set which requires a standard telephone line and a power source.

if you know how to do this go into riging programming of the set and activate it
DTMF or touch tones are generated through the trunk card(s) of the sytem problem. Chances are there may be more then one phone that has a problem.
Also on the outside of things, just try calling the same number from a different phone on the system, and if possible try using the trunk/line that you did with the m7208 in question, same problem? If yes possible trunk issue. If no, then try another phone where the problem set is plugged into.
Another thing you can try is call another service that uses a touch tone menu, using the phone in question, see if you have the same problem.
There is a built-in feature called Set Relocation. Check with your system administrator to make sure this feature is set to No. Then you can swap phones without a problem. Good Luck!
