I have a Belling 652BL cooker. The grill and top oven have stopped working, but the rings and the main fan oven continue to work as normal. The troubleshooting section in the user instructions suggests that there is a safety cut-out which stops the top oven/grill overheating but which should reinstate power once oven temperatures have dropped. 2 days later and ours still does not work. Any ideas?

Thanks johnf1434. I had my first chance to investigate yesterday, and it does indeed appear to be the temp regulator which is faulty - I checked it with a multimeter. Thanks for your advice!

ISOLATE MAINS POWER BEFORE OPENING SIDE AND REAR PANELS.
The grill and top oven have as discribed in the manual a temp regulator it is mounted on the side or rear chassis, this is probabily blown, they are normaly connected, when the devise goes faulty it stays open circuit, there are letters and numbers on this, take a note of them if you can read it. go to a local electrical store with the component, you should get a replacement, if however you have a multimeter, measure across the terminals with the meter on resistance, if no continuity, or contiunity to the case, the component is faulty. If however the component checks out working go to timers and remove the time on the auto timer for the top oven, visualy check the elements if the element have Black Grey spot, replace as it has blown, you can get spares at relativly low price you will need model and serial number of the appliance, from whitegoods.co.uk
hope this has been helpful

MAIN HOUSE FUSES TRIPPED, RESET, OVEN AND GRILL WILL NOT HEAT UP

It would appear that the tripping of the switch has caused some kind of short within the cooker. I would look for the continuity of the heating element.

Most likely the wires leading to the heating element have burnt and will need replacement. If you are comfortable with attempting a DIY, well and good. You will have to open the back panel to access the said wires. It should be easy enough to identify..it will be the wire leadingto the heating coil.

If , however, you are not familiar with these kind of things, I would recommend getting a repair guy to do it for you.

Cheers and good luck with the repair!

ISOLATE THE MAINS POWER BEFORE CHECKING THE APPLIANCE
Run your fingers along the grill element, in this model it is accessible, check for raised areas or small hole or roughness not food burnt, if visible, it should be Black Grey colour at the blemish, you can obtain parts from www.whitegoods.co.uk you will need the model and serial numbers.
The grill elements come out but when unsrewed sometimes the ceramic holders crack, remove element before ordering as you may have to replace the element holders.

Hi.i have a hotpoint creda c362e cooker the rings work grill works but main oven and top oven elements dont come on even when lights come on when switched on fan works but no heat could you help me on this...

Hi.
Frpm the sympton's you list, I would say that the main oven element has failed, espsecially if the fan is working o/k.
The element is located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.
In addition to the grill elements in the top oven compartment, there is an additional base element which you can't see.
If you turn the top oven on, the base of the compartment should get hot, if it does not, then the base element has probably failed.
Hope this helps.

Belling oven stopped working

It is most likely the element needs replacing although it could be the oven thermostat.

I would try a new element first, it is not a complicated job to change the element but you need to switch the power off at the wall before you start work.

If you are unsure or in doubt about carrying out the work seek professional help.
