Re: Unable to connect sanyo projector to sony laptop...
You need to use the Fn key on your computer to change the signal so your monitor signal projects through the projector.
On my computer I use the Fn key and F4 and it will then send the signal through the computer to the projector.

Not wishing to show Grandmother how to **** eggs, but there are three VGA sockets. One of them is VGA out. Can you select the inputs on the menu system? Hope that helps.
Is it just the live tv or the laptop in general you are not getting a signal from? Using 15 pin VGA cable correct from laptop to projector?
When booted to projector, on laptop, select "FN" key and either F5, F7 or F8 depending on your laptop. Look for the monitor logo on the F keys. This is telling the computer that you have hooked up an additional external monitor (the projector). Once will send image to projector, twice will display on both, a third time will return to just image on laptop.
Hello. There is no "device" needed to connect the units together...You'll need a cable that is"mini display port to vga". In order to connect the projector to the laptop, the cable has to have the special Apple connector which fits into a specific socket on the back of the laptop. The other end is just a standard vga connector which is plugged into the computer input on the projector. Hope I helped you!
Force the frequency on the mac to 60hz. The projector can't respond to the high clock rate of the mac. Contact sanyo for a firmware upgrade to this product as well
'Unsupported Signal' Error indicates that TV is accepting the signals for Video but not able to display because resolution doesn't matches. Else the message would be 'No Signal'. Follow the steps- NOTE- Make sure cable is 15 pin(at both ends) VGA cable, working fine between PC & Monitor. 1.The standard resolution of laptop(any) which would support is 1024*768. 2. Toggle the display output from Laptop Fn Keys depending on Laptop Brand. 3. Connect the cable after settings made. Also PC Settings will not be highlighted until connection is made.
should be able to download manual online, you cant just use a flash drive must be connected to laptop via vga cable, also I am not too sure about the mac, as i use a cheaper type laptop, but the display must be set for dual.
on windows this is done by right click, properties, advanced menu
Don't forget to select the Fn key and F4 on HP laptops. It could also be the Fn key and F8 depending on the laptop brand. It is the apple key and the F7 key on a Mac notebook. On Laptops this will toggle the video to the aux port where the monitor cable connects to the projector. There are 3 modes. video on the laptop screen, video on the laptop and projector, or video to the projector only.
Hi,
Perhaps you can try lowering the screen resolution first of the laptop before plugging in the projector and then the Fn + F8. Thereafter, gradually increase the screen resolution until projector stops displaying.
The idea is that your current screen resolution maybe too much for the projector to handle. This of course is assuming that there is no hardware problem with the projector.
Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information.
Good luck and kind regards.
