I have a craftsman 20 hp, 42 " deck with mower deck. (Model 917.275662) Just remounted deck after removing snowblower. Deck drive belt is so loose that not enuf tension/friction on mandrel pulleys to turn blades. The idler pully is under spring tension to pull forward toward front of tractor rather than putting any tension on belt. Somethings amiss! Help - Bob

So there has to be an adjustment on unit to correct belt tension. Check your manual or go the sears web site for guidance.

Think you're going at it from the wrong end, should be four bolts holding the whole assembly. Take off the blade and pull the rest up through the whole, leave the pulley on it. Don't buy new bearings, better off and cheaper to get a used one that works.

Craftsman dlt2000 20 hp kohler runs great until i try to engage blades pull up on the switch to engage and motor bogs and stalls
Now is a great time to remove the deck and sharpen the blades! In the process, you will find your problem. Look for clogs, seized bearings, freely rotating belts, etc... The problem is in the deck or drive belt. Hope this helps!

I am trying to find out how to replace the mower belt of my 2006 LT2000 23hp Craftsman lawnmower
Replacing the belt is easiest if you drop the deck. There are roughly 6 pins you must pull (refer to sticker on deck) including the engagement cable. Pull the deck from under the tractor and remove the plastic pulley shield from the left side. Remove the belt and replace the same as you took off and re-attach the deck to the mower.
