First make sure that the float valve is not stuck up with some thing under it, Its the little plastic cap at the left front bottom of dishwasher and should move freely by hand up and down and you should hear a slight click.

SOURCE: Dishwasher will not fill with water

Bosch D/w Have a float switchin the base pan of the unit you can access by removing the toe kick, if there is water in this base pan it turns the drain pump on and will not do anything else. So until the water is removed either vacume it out , or let it evaporate or however the unit will only drain

SOURCE: My bosch dishwasher does not fill with water (although it drains)

most bosch have the inlet valve at the end of the fill pipe and it has an anti-flood device.
try turning off the water, take off the fill pipe then reconnect it and see if this works.
taking off the fill pipe resets the anti-flood device

SOURCE: water won't drain from my hot point dishwasher

Your drain/waste line under the sink is clogged with grease and soap scum.
Remove the P-trap and connecting drain lines, route out the drain and lines.
If you have a air gap mounted on the sink, clean that too.

Electrolux dishwasher overflows

Two things to consider....clean water or dirty water?

Clean water usually indicates the fill valve is not shutting off all the way and the fill valve is "weeping" water in all the time = new fill valve time!!

Dirty water usually is not a dishwasher problem but more of a plumbing issue. Often the sink drain that carries the sinks water outside is not fast enough and some of this sink water is backing up into the drain hose and filling up the dishwasher through the drain hose. The drain from the sink to outside needs attention as this type of a problem indicates a slow house drain for that sink.

The dishwasher drain line should be clamped to the top underneath part of the counter before entering the sink drain plumbing, this may help the water from coming back inside the dishwasher.

Kenmore Quietguard 2 dishwasher not filling.

There is a solenoid that keeps the water in the washer. It is either faulty or there is something preventing it from closing completely. If there is no power applied to the washer, does it then hold water?

Had blocked drain so water from sink backed up into d.washer. Drain clear but d.washer keeps emptying and won't fill

Make sure drain hose from dishwasher is higher than water inlet if not it will do just like a washing machine if the drain hose is lower than water level it will empty while filling.

When i start it it keeps pumping water out

Hi.

If it keeps pumping water out when at the same time is filling, then it is probably a faulty control board.
The drain pump is supposed to come on after filling and cycling.

Before replacing the timer control, ensure that the problem is not a contact in drain pump wiring harness, keeping pump contacts hot even on filling.

If the cycle doesn't complete, check these:

Water-heating cycle
Timer
Water-heating cycle Many dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens next, depends, as follows:

  • On some units, the pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time.

  • On others, the cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If you have this type of dishwasher and the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too.

Timer Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault. Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it.
