How mutch ram can go into the emachines netbook?

I checked out a memory manufacture and it says you can max it out with 1 2GB PC2-5300 667Mhz stick. So you can effectively double the amount of RAM you have which will make your computer a lot fast when loading programs.

if that will run a 64 bit operating system you can run more memory in the machine tho

Generally, you can get up to 8 GB RAM, but that is theoretical.
Practical, i think it's up to 4GB
