I have a lenovo y 430 laptop and i want to restore it to factory setting. So I start with the laptop switched off. I click on the OKR button. My laptop just boots up as normal. Once it is on, I press the OKR button and then it asks me to take a backup to an external hardisk or cd. I have done that. Now after that what - it just doesnt go back to factory settings. I dont have the CD either to restore it.

1. Turn off your compter.

2. Look for theOne Key Recovery button on your PC. It's near the power button.

3. Press the OKR button, wait until your computer turns on.

4. After Windows loading files you'll be routed on Lenovo One Key Rescue System.

5. Select One Key Recovery then, select restore from Intial back up.

Usually it will take 20-30 minutes for the whole process to be done. Once it's finish just reboot your computer.

My Lenovo ideapad z565 with Windows 7 does not boot after the Windows logo appears. How can I restore it to it's factory settings by using the onekey recovery (F11)? I already did that but nothing...

For you to perform One Key Recovery, it is done by pressing the OKR button next to power button when the computer is off..(OKR or One key recovery is a very small button usually next/ near the power button that has an inverted U-shaped arrow and usually, some models, the color is orange button)..Select "One key recovery" from the options and next, select "Restore from Initial Back up" after that, you may select "start" to perform OKR..
Just in case OKR button is no longer working, you may ask for the recovery CD's from lenovo to manually install windows.

I have installed fresh vista on my lenovo y530. How can I retore to factory settings as I am finding difficulty to boot without a disk?

All Lenovo computers have what we call the One Key Recovery button. The button with an Arched Arrow or the U-Turn symbol. It is found somewhere near the power button. This only works though if the Hard drive was not reimaged or reformatted by user. One Key Recovery is pre-installed in the hidden partion of the HDD, if it's not affected by any issues you can access this by pressing the OKR button.

Here's how you do it:
  1. Turn the computer off
  2. Press the One Key Recovery Button, the button with an Arched Arrow or the U-Turn symbol
  3. It will tell you Windows is loading files...
  4. After a few moments it will give you options like; One Key Recovery, One key Antivirus, and System Setup
  5. Select One Key Recovery
  6. Click on Restore from initial Backup
  7. Click Start
  8. Wait for it to complete
  9. Click OK
  10. Click Done
  11. Click Reboot instead of Shutdown
This step wipes out and re-installs the operating system, drivers and the default programs that came with your computer. In short, sets it back to factory state.

Hi Bartomk,

The orange button located on the right hand side of the keyboard is the One Key Recovery. If you want to bring back the default factory setting of your computer just use the OKR button.
note: if you process OKR all existing files on your drive C will be wiped out.

How to use OKR:

1. Turn off the computer completely.

2. While system is turned off press the OKR button.

3. You will be directed to the One Key Rescue system page.

4. Select restore system to the initial back up.
5. Wait until the progress bar reaches 100%.

6. Reboot your computer.

Hope it helps,
