I attempted to hook up my new Blu-ray last night. I connected it to my LCD TV via the provided HDMI cord. Easy. Connected the power cord. Turned on the TV, then selected the proper input designae and then turned on the Blu-ray. No signal. I turned both units on and off, unplugged and re-plugged, yada, yada. The Blu-ray opening screen did come on a few times or so but only for a few moments. Then the no signal pops up again. Any ideas??
Either the new BlueRay player is defective, the HDMI port on the player is defective, or the port on your set is defective.
Try connecting it with component RGB/AV cables, or S-Video/AV cables and see if everything works. If so, then you know that it is either the port on the BlueRay, or the port on the TV set.
To test the HDMI port on your TV, you will need another HDMI device to try.
