37 inch Sharp Aquos. "Failed to receive Broadcast [E202]"

I was given a used 37 inch Sharp Aquos. It reads "Failed to receive Broadcast [E202]" .
Ive searched a couple spots to see what this error message is but can't find it ..... anyone know what's supposed to be done?
I tried my direct tv cable on another tv and it works just fine. Can't seem to get signal in this TV

I also have a Sharp Aquos & just two digital channels that [E202] shows up on. Channel 5 (FOX) & Channel 4 (NBC). I think it just a weak signal for those channels. I'm going to try a cable booster to see if that works.

This is basically a message for no signal on the tv, make sure the tv itself is on the correct input for the type of cable used. The inputs are labled by numbers on the back of the tv. The input can be changed by the button on the side panel of the tv.

Well I tried a cable amplifier & that solved my problem. I now get all HD channels without an HD cable box.

It is only an input issue. Just select hdmi 2 or whatever works for your tv and your problem will be solved! No big deal.

Menu - setup - reset the whole tv and start a new search. Worked fine for me.

That means the channel is active but but there is a problem with the delivery by the broadcaster, not a defective TV.

Turned on set....screen all black except a dark blue rectangle in center which reads:Failed to receive broadcast [E202]

That message is presented when a selected digital channel is too weak to decode. Let us hope that something was accidentally changed:

Is the channel legitimate?
Is the antenna/cable still connected (to the Digital input)?
Go into menu - setup - channel setup. Is the selection of either cable or air channels correct for your situation?
Use menu - setup - Antenna Setup-DIGITAL to examine the signal strength. Is there nothing at all, or is it just a question of strength?

Odds favor a change in channel setup that you would not have made intentionally, or a simple physical problem (input cable, etc.). Start from scratch, and check the settings and connections you originally made. Hopefully it will be simple and cheap!

Sharp Aquos HDTV Failed to receive broadcast

I too have this issue I beleive what is happening is the integrated tuner is not locking on to the channel because of a weak signal and then sending that error message . I am going to replace the cable from the splitter to this tv and see what happens. I have another new tv just installed from that splitter and it has all chanels. Remember to RE- run the locate all channels after anything is done to the cable splitter etc.

Sharp Aquos LC-52D64U LCD-52 wdscrn tht won't scan in digital...

Seeing that you have a superior brand and not getting channels is a bummer. It may have to do with the setting, make sure you're set to cable rather antenna and then do a rescan. Btw, often times channels from an over the antenna is much clearer than from cable because cable tv has to compress the signal. If you're high in the air like the top floor of a building a cheap $10 will pull in great free digital channels. It helps to experiment and read the troubleshooting guide in your manual.
