Acer X223W black screen on startup, blinking blue reset button. Removed monitor and now connected to laptop. Still same problem. Any ideas?

A blinking blue light indiactes that your power-inverter board is not putting out what it should. It needs an overhaul which may be a simple as changing out the capacitors on the boards.
It could go beyong that to transistors or even a bad bulb.
It will have to be opened up to do that.
A picture may show visual signs of damage. If you can take one and email it to me , I'll take a look.

yes you can fix this problem go in to start menu then control panel then double click display, then screen resulution and add the secondary screen, bc windows doesn't add the screen automaticlly you have to do it this way

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.

It's seems you need to reset your WB (white blance). Open your on screen display and look for WB settings... Good lucks!

hi, when all connected press and hold the FN key on the bottom left of the keypad while pressing one of the function keys F1 to F12(the one with picture of a screen or monitor). You may need to press it more than once but if will eventually switch the display over to the tv
