One question please, I have makita cordlless drill BHP 452 HW with battery BL1815 1.5AH 18V , machine has been used less than 1 year and now we have problem with battery (both) , charger showing red indication ! I want to order 2 battery , which lithium ion battery I can use for BHP 452HW , can I use battery 3.0 AH li- ion BL1830 ?? Thanks for good cooperation and your understanding !!
According to the schematic I saw yes you can and I think that you will be pleased with its performance, their operator manual even lists the weight of tool with this battery. Makita has a 1 year limited warranty on the Li-Ion battery that you might want to consider if you have the receipt.
Testimonial: "thanks"
Makita will replace these batteries if they fail with under 150 charges
on them, regardless of warranty, but you have to take or mail them to a
Makita service center where they can read the charge count. They know they have a problem.
These batteries have a known design defect that makes them fail if they are left uncharged for a few months. The control board in the battery thinks the battery has failed, and permanently locks the battery so it won't charge in the Makita charger. It's probably still usable. You can probably charge it in an aftermarket charger, which you can find on eBay for about $60. That's cheaper than buying new batteries, so it's worth a shot if Makita won't replace them.
