I have a Maytag cwg3100aab built in. My poor husband and I had to pull out the whole oven to change the sensor yesterday after receiving th F3 signal. i turned the oven on and had it on for at least an hour after that and everything was fine. This morning I turned it on and had a roast in it and after about an hour my daughter called and said there was an F5 signa. I told her to shut it off and reset and it's been about a half hour and she hasn't called me back yet. What is F5? How do you fix it? If he has to pull that oven out again, he is going to scream!!!!

SOURCE: My GE oven gives error code of F3 and F5

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Fixya.

It's possible it could be the senser, just two screws hold it on and the wires unplug with a connector.
As to understand it in details whether the sesor is the bad part you can use a ohm meter to test the sensor, it should read about 1100 ohms at room temperature, if so, then your oven sensor is good.

You can get a cheap ohm meter at Radio Shack or any hardware store. If your oven sensor tests good, then your control board would need to be replaced.
That would help to resolve the issue.

God Bless.

SOURCE: F1 is displayed on Maytag Electric Oven

Hi

F1 error means that you have either a bad ERC (clock) or a bad touch pad. To check these please follow these simple instructions:

  1. Disconnect power to stove
  2. Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range control or ERC).
  3. Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
  4. Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on.
  5. Turn power back on to stove.
  6. Watch for the F1 and listen for the beep.
  7. If you get the F1 and beep, replace the ERC.
  8. If after approx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad...
thank u

Oven has a f3 error

Hi angelice_wil,

The F3 fault code description is a shorted or open oven temperature sensor. The easiest way to correct this error is to check the sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. If you noticed that the wiring is all ok, replace the oven temperature sensor (RTD).

Hope it helps.

F3 Fault Code appears

What it needs is a new temperature sensor.
Unplug the range. Open the oven. Look in the top right or left side of the oven for a metal rod about 1/2 the size of a pencil. Remove the screws holding it in. Pull it out very carefully. Unplug the wire connector. Reverse this order to replace the temperature sensor.

F3 error in roper model B9757XO

Hi. This F-3 code is representing a malfunction within the oven temperature sensor. It is open at the moment and unable to transfer data at this time.

You can test by Measuring the oven temperature sensor resistance, should be1100 ohms. If not, replace sensor.
